CMS have had some kind of system based cock up on my claim, meaning until it's unfunded nobody is allowed to do anything regarding it INCLUDING doing something about the fact the my ex has decided to pay less per month than he ought to pay per week.
Literally was just told "even if he stopped paying there's nothing we could do about it right now"

YANBU. NRPs who don't pay should have it taken from their wages or benefits straight away. How many RPs go without new clothes and shoes and even food for themselves, to put their children first?

And of course the reason he's cut the money is because he's cut his hours apparently, according to him anyway. The CMS said they haven't been able to sort any changes recently because of aforementioned cock up, so obviously when they do sort everything out he will only have to pay the reduced amount plus a tiny amount of arrears each month as (like I.was told last time he had arrears) they have to make sure it's affordable for the paying parent and that it doesn't cause him hardship.
Fuck the hardship we have though, obviously.

Please note, he cut his hours in response to the child maintenance service calculating that his payments ought to increase from £170 per month to 220. He's now paying me 45 per month. For two children.

I found CMS amazing. They immediately got maintenance for my gs which CSA hadn't managed in 10 years.
The arrangement is that if a payment is missed the arrangement will be changed to being taken directly from the person's wages. In that case they will have to pay an extra 25% to cover costs.

They are rubbish. I've been waiting for the pittance from XH's benefits since June, which hasn't been paid due to computers and can't be backdated either. Even though I'm ringing every other week. You'd think a direct deduction from state money would be an easy one but no...

And despite it being generated, it never got printed and sent. And all I'm getting told. Still. Is that there has been an issue with the system and it's not doing as it should and they are escalating it to someone who can unfuck it but in the meantime, fuck all they can do.

MAY. FUCKING MAY. The last letter I had from them is dated 28 April. Apparently it might not get sorted till it goes back to annual review.

And this 221 per month figure is from the annual review, which neither of us got in writing but have been told on the phone when calling to see where our payment schedules are.

In an unrelated cock up. I got a letter from HMRC yesterday to Mr G Sonic, my address, exes NI number regarding the overpayment of tax credits and the payment schedule he's arranged with them.

I think we should have a system like America. Don't pay, loose your license/jail/ garnishment and a back payment that you owe and will keep being garnished on until you pay up.

Unfortunately millions of children are still paying the price for the horrendous press the CSA got soon after its inception 20+ years ago. A strong 'dads driven to the brink by callous agency' narrative was formed and nobody had the balls to risk a rerun by cracking down or even using the full powers that exist already.

It's shit. The reason it's shit is because the majority of RPs are women. If it were predominantly men trying to get the maintenance their kids deserve then I bet it would be a very different story.

The government could easily sort it, if they wanted to! I've said previously it should be the NRP responsibility to register, just like self employed. Fail to register = fine. No more than 200% of what is owed plus £100. This is chased for life.
Box is ticked, just like student loans. There is a reason the government don't let ex students voluntarily pay back their loan, instead it is deducted at source! Maintenance should be taken at source, just like student loans. All responsibility should be with NRP, or they incur a financial penalty, just like self assessment. Fucking ridiculous that a western government cannot resolve such a problem in a society with NI numbers, driving licenses, passports and electoral registers!

Whoever it is that has been giving her advice should be ashamed of themselves! This individual broke up a family home because she was cheating on him (an amazing man!) with a drug dealer! Fact. Now I'm sorry but she has had legal advice from SOMEWHERE as she clearly has not got the onions to be able to extort this system in such a manner! I have been with my partner for three years now, I have watched him cry himself to sleep at night and become twisted with hurt and so stress he had a SUDO SEIZURE! She has changed her bank accounts and lied to the CMS saying he has never payed for his son, when in fact (I know because I've been through the accounts and he has payed her way over the odds!Fact!) To attain click and collect payments, and has now got the CMS demanding in excess of over £200 per week for a child he hasn't seen in two and a half years! He is devastated and now has lost a career of 16 years! She has battered him financially so badly he cannot afford to even go and visit his mum that is dieng of cancer in hospital, we are now both in debt because of this and I might loose my house, MY CHILDRENS HOME! .. It's all very well saying that "oh you should write to your MP, and follow the complaints procedure! But is that going to stop the interest? Is that going to stop the devastation already caused? Is that going to allow him to see his mum before she goes? I think not! There is wonderful people in this world and there are disgusting rotten individuals that will use the system like this.. I'm on tenderhooks, worried sick about him! He has been through too much already and it amazes me that he carries on going. Please remember there is always two sides to a story and you might be helping one of these rotten eggs to damage not only a good person but a child that is stuck in the middle!
