I'm on day 3 of being 'ahem' symptomatic. Whilst I'm getting a bit fed up of feeling unwell, and effectively being in quarantine, I just got on the scales and am down about 5lbs!

Quim, research I've read googled suggests that yes, your blood type will be protecting you. Lucky you!!!

Pootlebug · 10/11/2016 13:06

OP your symptoms sound more Campylobacter than Norovirus

Hope you are better soon. And that the weight stays off!

amusedbush · 10/11/2016 13:14

I lost 9lbs in a week when I had noro a few years ago, it kickstarted me into losing three stone Grin

I got flu about two months before my wedding. It was during the Christmas holidays and it was awful and even when I recovered I wasn't 100% for a while and my appetite literally disappeared. I actually have proper cheekbones in my wedding photos I look great Smile

If it is campylobacter then it is a notifiable illness.

dannyglick · 10/11/2016 20:02

I had norovirus a couple of years ago, and have never felt so ill.
The upside was that I stepped on the scales at SW the following week, and had lost 7 pounds.
The weigh-in lady asked me for a kiss.

I lost 13 pounds from norovirus and the vomiting and diarrhea only lasted 12 hours, but it was constant with no breaks I passed out 5 times on toilet i didn't get off the toilet in that 12 hours.
