To ask the teacher to complement her class for me?

I went to an assembly as a parent of a reception class child (my youngest) and noticed how brilliant the year 6 children were with the little ones, helping them find a place to sit,making sure they got their drink and biscuit at the end, comforting the ones that cried,then they worked together to clear everything away afterwards.

As a catholic school they really emphasise that you should threat others as you want to people to treat you so I was going to ask the year 6 teacher to tell he class how impressed I was.
Dp says they will think I'm weird

How do you know they didn't? Maybe drop a little card into the office instead

The teacher will be delighted and so will the children. You should definitely tell them. People often only think to give negative feedback so some positive comments would be welcomed.

I think they would be chuffed to bits! People are so ready to complain about stuff today, I always go out of my way to point out the good things. I say go for it.

I would write a little note that could be pinned up in the classroom. I am sure that they would be really chuffed

Showing kindness and bestowing genuine praise is never wrong. Do contact them.

I wouldn't tell them to tell year 6. I'd just tell them and they probably will pass it on.

Sorry I wasn't meaning the OP wanted it to come across as telling the teacher what to do, rather that it could be perceived that way by the teacher. I was suggesting a less direct way of expressing her views.

I disagree with your partner, OP, and, as a teacher, would be delighted to receive this kind of feedback for my students. I agree with the previous posters who've mentioned sending a card.

Do it, we're coming up to half term, it's a long slog of getting to know the children and find a new level so I reckon the teacher would be chuffed and it'd be such a nice boost!

A lovely idea OP. I think children of any age would be overjoyed to be complemented like that.

I know my form at school were overjoyed when they received a letter from the local nursing home praising them for their excellent behaviour and work during our annual senior citizen's christmas party. It's still up on the notice board in our room, 10 months later.

If I were there teacher I'd definitely pass on your message of thanks. I think it'sa lovely idea.

Children love things like this - I've always made sure that any feedback from people on school trips gets back to them.
