To ask about a time when you've really lost your shit?

Twins are driving.me.to.madness!

They are ignoring me constantly

I shouted . Really shouted .

I've removed their favourite game for a week (heat of the moment OTT reaction ) so they both cried .

But bloody hell I'm sick of the sound of my own voice repeating myself !

Tell me a time you've lost the plot with your kids to make me feel better .....

How old are your twins? Mine are 4 so I'm trying to work out whether you can tell me it does get better or I'll be telling you it doesn't!

I also have twins.

I also would struggle to tell you one time.

The one that sticks out (which I've told here before) was when I treated myself to an expensive lighted kindle case which was broken within a week. They'd already broken about six clip on lights hence me thinking this would be better.

I threw it at the wall and had a good old cry Blush

How long have you got??
2 teenage sons bickering and bitch slapping on a day out on hols at a safari park.

I walked away and looked up train times to send the little feckers to their df!
Came back with super stoney bitch face and not another word was heard from either of them!
Rest of the holiday was quite harmonious!!

Make sure they know you love them. You always love them. Even when you loose your cool calm collected mummy vibe... Lots of kids don't know this and need to be reassured.

Then cut yourself a break. It's old be worse if you didn't recognise it as loosing your shit.

They are 5.

I can't even describe how chaotic it gets !

They get in to their own little twilight zone where nothing gets through - they will be laughing and play fighting too rough the whole time I'm asking them to get changed for bed .

They completely ignore me .

Or one of them will repeatedly say "what" and carry on with what he's doing .

Infuriating .

My patience is very thin right now !

Today when Scottish power took £323 out of my account. Apparently we had an "email based account" and they have been emailing me to say we aren't paying enough and owe them £1500. I never knew anything about it. Account is in dh name but emails were sent to me. Now I know why my dad pays everything by cheque

Friday. I'd been ill all week, DS woke up in a vile mood, whinged all morning and then refused to go to school. I shouted at him in the playground in front of all the other parents and left him crying with the TA. Not my finest parenting moment Blush I felt guilty all day.

It happens. When you've calmed down apologise for shouting and explain to them why you were cross. Wine and chocolate (for you not them). Parenting is hard as sometimes kids are shits Wine

Mine are 9, the ignoring thing gets better, but I suspect it will return with a vengeance when they hit the teens

Give or take we're at the same place now then. I think it's definitely more of a 'twin thing' as they egg each other on. Talking of eggs... dtson had a growing dinosaur egg - one of those you put in water and the dinosaur expands as it soaks up water, hatching the egg. They were constantly fiddling with it, dropping it etc. It got pretty cracked and I told them for the nth time if they didn't stop fiddling with it, it would get broken. Unfortunately they didn't stop and it did get broken. When I threw it down the hall away from them Blush. I currently owe dts a new one.

I regularly felt like a fishwife as I screeched at them across the park or down the street to come back to me. I now employ a whistle.

DS (6) was refusing to do his homework, after about half an hour of trying to coax him into doing it the tears started, another 15 mins of throwing his pencil away and hysterical crying my patience was wearing really thin. I told DS that was fine, he didn't have to do his homework but I'd be writing on the notes to the teacher 'refused to do homework', so he starts shouting 'no don't do that' in between hysterics but he was still refusing to do the bloody homework this went back and forth for ages and I completely lost it... I screamed in his face 'shut up and do your bloody homework' like properly screamed at him. I stormed in the living room and closed to door while he cried at the table in dining room.

I was disgusted at myself, once I cooled down I apologised and we had a proper talk about anger and losing temper. I'm usually well equipped to deal with homework dramas, it was a one off and I told him I was wrong and how much I love him, I was just so angry that day.

I ROARED at my almost 4yo DD on Saturday. She was sitting in the corner of the sofa so I couldn't sit there to feed DD2, created when I went and sat on a chair instead, moved away (so I could sit next to her) and then leaped into the seat just before I sat down. I'd just had enough. It happens.

when mine were 4 and 5 they were arguing all the time about their barbie dolls. Finally I strode into the room, grabbed two barbies (naked ones as it happens) opened the back door and flung them with full force out into the snow.

There was silence for quite a while after that.

Only a couple of weeks ago. A large sandpit (two beach volleyball courts). Add one 4 year old who buried his shoes, but couldn't remember where ....

Lastnight, the last year and a half have been hellish for us, first off I have a son on the autisitix spectrum who has been extremley violent and had constant meltdowns, then my partner had a heart attack, with all the stress from my son my partner became agrophobic. Then my mother died, then my bestest aunt died then found out my father has aggresive cancer and then partners mother died, so kids have lost both nannas in under a year.

Have a son who has depression that took an over dose yesterday, and a son that has glandular fever, I also had been working with children that have disabilities, so yesterday I had had enough!!!! I sent an email into work saying I couldnt do it anymore I need to look after my family, which was silly really but I just felt like snapping, too much to soon.

I lose my shit many times a day. I have 4 kids who oy see me when they want something. They treat me like a slave and I'm sick of my own voice forcing them to do stuff like pick up their own pants.
I'm suprised my neighbour hasn't called ss on me.

Me tonight to my twins (5): "it's bedtime. We do this every night so why is it such a confusing time for you? Which part of get your nightclothes on and put your school uniform and underwear in the was basket is confusing you so much that you heard 'go upstairs and do cartwheels while screaming'?" They were worse at 3 though!

3 weeks ago at DS (7). Completely lost it, ranted and raved and then went and locked myself in the bathroom and sobbed. Can't even remember what about now.

Apologised and had a long chat afterwards about tempers etc.

He is being assessed for ADHD/ASD so I wasn't the greatest example that day
