I think I would sit on the money a while before even telling dh. Just have a cleaner and cook turn up while he is out Grin

I wouldn't tell anyone. No idea why people hang their lives out to dry in the press because they have won money.
I'd enjoy it - and make friends and family happy, but nobody would find out the source of my fortune.

I'd buy a castle big house and do it all up in secret then take the family on 'holiday' there. After a while I would tell them we never had to leave.

I wouldn't tell DH for a while either. Long enough to mess with him for a bit. He'll forgive me when I finish designing our new house, with a dedicated editing suite and gaming room just for him. I use the present tense because obviously I'm going to win, not the OP.

I think I'd also buy a goat. No particular reason, just because I could.

I have plans to anonymously pay off the mortgages of several friends who have been amazing to me. I will buy one an apartment of her choice... I will tell nobody I'm related to, and I'd get my dog a puppy.

I might also buy shares in my company just to piss them off as I'm not very happy at the min and then at least I'd get a shot w changing things!

Would buy our house not tell a soul for a bit get the kids a private education (asd and they would thrive at the local private school)

Have a absolutely fantastic holiday travel on a private plane an go somewhere quiet that the kids would love.

Anonymously give to the small local charities that do great work enough to find them for a few years.

Would also love to arrange and pay for a big meet up for all the 'friends' i have made from when my children were babies.

I have lots of plans.... And a ticket..

me and dh say if we win we can have a portion each, to piss up the wall. The rest has to be joint decisions.

I definitely want to fritter some of it.

Because if they don't, then someone else will. Things can't be done anonymously, because of money laundering prevention and a quick search of a system, putting two and two together, a bit of jealousy and the stories out.

So the thought is that you might as well be in control.

I'd be travelling, none stop, my Adult children and GC, could come and join me, on occasion, so by the time I was around in the UK, it would be old news.

I'm lucky that I have a small family and few real friends.

There's still plenty of people who have remained anonymous for many years and won very high prizes on the euromillions, if you're smart it can be done. I think you have to be mad to take the public option.

I would buy a huge amount of land with some Forrest, fields, maybe some beach attached, build a few houses so my sister and brother can have their own place my mum a nice bungalow a few miles away kids in private high schools (including my Dad's kids) buy a huge house in the Alps, buy a house for woman's aid keeps it my name incase and gift in my will next to good schools, hire a nanny and I'd have 10 dogs and hire someone to help out.

My DH would buy a better down hill bike, a shit 2nd hand van and open a bike shop Confused I laughted at home and gave him better ideas like been able to go biking all over the world and investing in the DC!

I'd do the publicity, because apparently you get a lot more help and advice from the lottery people if you do, and because I prefer the idea of it just being over and done with quickly, rather than having to tell people in person / decide who to tell and who not to tell, etc.

Then I'd run away on a yacht for a good long while to escape!

I would buy a big fuck off house, the biggest wide screen tv and the obligatory goat and revel in telling all the neighbours that it was a council house and I was on benefits, just so I could see all the threads popping up on here Grin

Wouldn't tell anyone just dh. Sit on it for a year or so then buy a nicer car, then another year and buy a nice house. Do it in stages then no one would realise.
