To ask How did a peadaphile see my baby?

Police had evidence but he hadn't been convicted. Child and baby porn. How on earth was he not prevented from living a life where he had access to children before he was sentenced?

What sort of pictures you taking?

Normal children photos or...not nice photos?

Did he take them himself or was they stolen from the Internet?

He was actively seeking sex from underage children and had the vilest photos you could imagine on his computer.

Of course none of his friends knew. So he carried on as normal whilst being investigated which included seeing, holding, touching my baby.

So, he's a relative? A friend?

So how did he get access to your children?

Did you know him? And therefore trusted him and let him alone with your baby?

Ok, if he was under investigation then he should have been given bail conditions regards children. Did he ever have time alone with your baby? Have you spoken to the officer dealing with the case?

How do you know him?

She may not have known about the investigation...

He was a friend. He didn't tell anyone about the investigation so of course he was trusted.

He wasn't ever left alone but he very well could have been. And that's what concerns me...Surely he should've had restrictions on seeing children?

So he was being investigated for having images of child abuse but he was still in contact with children? Is there nothing the police can do to prevent that while an investigation is underway?

I know it's crazy but I remember watching a documentary about it recently. When they are given their conditions of bail (and what contact they are allowed with children) it is dependant on how much of a physical risk the police deem them to children. So some are allowed no contact and some can carry on as normal.

MrsCK that happens quite a lot in these cases - they keep a secret from as many folk as possible.

It must be such a shock and no doubt you're questioning everything. The police officers will have looked at the risk of him committing contact offences and should have looked at which children he has contact with to see if there's a risk there. Most people who have images haven't done any contact offences and often have children of their own that they can have contact with during the investigation.

Try to stay calm and if you think it will help then you could ring the safeguarding unit for advice.

You must be really shaken. Were you close with him?

Jen that's my question. I doubt he'd have disclosed knowing us as we only saw each other sporadically.

I'm just shocked

If he didn't mention the investigation he wouldn't mention.any bail conditions. Might be worth enquiring if he has breached bail by being with your child.
