Utterly contrived. I mean, the two camp guys who fell out over chicken. Are we meant to believe that wasn't all set up from the start?

MumOnTheRunCatchingUp · 03/09/2016 21:00

Where the hell do they get these people from?

Spiderpigspiderpig · 03/09/2016 21:01

I'm laughing my head off!

ImperialBlether · 03/09/2016 21:02

They were really awful singers, but I came on to ask whether anyone else felt really butch in comparison?

Lilaclily · 03/09/2016 21:02

I loved the second guy on his own, together they were awful!

OnlyTheWelshCanCwtch · 03/09/2016 21:02

Of course its set up- always has been

I cant believe Ive sat through nearly an hour of this shit tbh!!
My kids have no taste

Lilaclily · 03/09/2016 21:02

I was jealous of the flat stomach !

pleasemothermay1 · 03/09/2016 21:03

The scout for them it's like britians got talent they send people to look for the talent

TheHuffAndPuffALot · 03/09/2016 21:04

Surely the three judges who said yes did that just to wind SC up?

OSETmum · 03/09/2016 21:06

Oh it was so obviously set up. I was also jealous of the birthday cake's flat stomach Shock

MrsMargeSimpson · 03/09/2016 21:09

Their acting was even worse than their singing Wink

raisedbyguineapigs · 03/09/2016 21:12

Its so horrifically staged and predictable. And Louis coming back with his shit decisions is almost unbearable! They have even dragged out Simons son in a desperate attempt at sympathy!

Schoolisback1973 · 03/09/2016 21:14

I also loved the second guy on his own...Even my 9 years old dd didn't believe all the drama was real!! I laughed so much though

ToTheCrystalDome · 03/09/2016 21:16

I'm going to cover my face in stick on stars when I go back to work tomorrow!

thiswayplease · 03/09/2016 21:19

I could actually believe some people would fall out over a chicken...... I have encountered similar people in real life plus I fell out with DH because he can't dust properly

228agreenend · 03/09/2016 21:33

Surprised to see Simon's son. I expected Simon to keep his son more private.

Havingkittens04 · 03/09/2016 21:38

I had this conversation recently with a 20 year old work colleague who is a massive X Factor Fan after he asked me if I watch it... I broke it to him gently, but...

I felt like I was telling a 5 year old that Father Christmas doesn't exist Xmas Confused

LunaLoveg00d · 03/09/2016 21:38

Stopped watching X Factor years ago. Think the last person I saw winning it was Leona Lewis.

It's dreadful TV, very contrived, the sob stories, feuds, dramas and humiliation of crap singers.

AnInterestingBabblement · 03/09/2016 21:43

Without wanting to out myself, I've known one of the chicken lads since he was a toddler. Although he is camp in the real world, it will come as no surprise that much of this is contrived for the show.

EdmundCleverClogs · 03/09/2016 21:46

Hahahaha, are you talking about Simon Cowell? That man would sell his grandmother for the advertising money. Do people still watch this shite at all? Everything about it is awful, in every sense.

Havingkittens04 · 03/09/2016 21:46

Luna that's when I stopped watching it! There were stories in the press at the time about all evidence of Leona being a professional backing vocalist, and her family knowing and being photographed with Simon Cowell way before her X Factor days, being wiped from the Internet and agencies' websites etc if I'm remembering correctly Hmm

rosesarered9 · 03/09/2016 21:47

I think X Factor is rigged because the people who don't win are the ones who become famous later. Hmm

friendlyfoxes · 03/09/2016 21:48

I have refused to watch it after the horrible treatment of the Pink singer in 2012.

rosesarered9 · 03/09/2016 21:48

There's a whole Wikipedia article about criticism of the X Factor:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Controversy_and_criticism_of_The_X_Factor_(UK)

WankingMonkey · 03/09/2016 21:53

The sob stories were killing it...if they continue down the road of getting BAD actors like those two, its even more dead. Second guy was actually ok on his own..they were dreadful together. Bet they make the live shows too :/

SimplyNigella · 03/09/2016 21:57

Read Ben Elton's Chart Throb- a fabulous parody of X Factor.
