I bloody love a nap!

WhooooAmI24601 · 18/08/2016 15:45

I love a good disco kip. I swear by them in the summer holidays.

ClubTropicanaDrinks · 18/08/2016 15:46

I like to treat myself to a Saturday afternoon nap whenever possible! Have to time it right though because if it's too long I wake up feeling horrendous.

eggyface · 18/08/2016 15:46

No because I have two tiny children but I WANT TO.

sooperdooper · 18/08/2016 15:47

No, I hate napping in the day it leaves md feeling all confused about what time of day it is

ArmySal · 18/08/2016 15:48

Only when I've worked a night shift. When I'm not in work I can't nap during the day, it seems to make me more tired.

JoandMax · 18/08/2016 15:49

I love a 20 minute doze on the sofa while the DC are watching TV - it's iur holiday ritual after being out and about!

A proper bed nap only if I've been sleeping really badly or been ill

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 18/08/2016 15:49

I'm in bed now.

It's cosy.

legotits · 18/08/2016 15:52

And me Joffers afternoon snoozeroos are my life saver.

Headphones on and big snores in the garden.
Heaven..... but I'm bed bound today so napping in a dark room.

MarcelineTheVampire · 18/08/2016 15:55

I have just woken up from a delightful nap - my DD decided that 3am was an appropriate time to wake up and that I should get up too....so I really felt like I deserved it.

YANBU go for it.

sonlypuppyfat · 18/08/2016 15:55

I wake up odd

megletthesecond · 18/08/2016 15:56

Not since I've had children. Sadly.

whateveryousay · 18/08/2016 15:58

I nap nearly every day, otherwise I'm a miserable cow by 5pm.

BummyMummy77 · 18/08/2016 16:03

I do sometimes. For the last ten years I get drop down tired between 2-3pm.

It's so bad sometimes even when I worked I'd sneak off and nap in a dark cupboard sitting up for 20 minutes.

Now I have ds I nap with him when I haven't got too much housework to do and it's the most lovely, enjoyable thing in the world having snugly naps and waking up and having smoochie toddler hugs. Grin

Sequentialchoring · 18/08/2016 16:16

Nope! Gives me a migraine or feel so rotten on waking that it's not worth it! Plus hate getting hot\sweaty and squishing hair! Feel hideously tired nowadays though around 5/6 pm ... .But sleeping during the day just seems wrong somehow (but I don't have infants waking me in the night!) Dh on the other hand always has day-time naps at weekends but he works long hrs and travels constantly.

chough · 18/08/2016 16:16

On the days when I've had a 20 minute power nap in the afternoon, I get more things done later in the day.
I have a work colleague who likes going home after an early shift for ( NW England) "an hour in t' shawl".

WilLiAmHerschel · 18/08/2016 16:20

I physically can't not nap nowadays. If I don't go to bed for a sleep I fall asleep where I'm sitting. I don't know what's wrong with me.

JockMonsieur · 18/08/2016 16:23

i would if I could, but I can rarely get one of my DC to be quiet for long enough for me to drop off.

DameXanaduBramble · 18/08/2016 16:23

Ooh yeah, I love a disco nap!

Ludoole · 18/08/2016 16:23

I work nights and can't sleep for more than 3 hours in the day Sad. I'm permanently exhausted.

CremeEggThief · 18/08/2016 16:24

Sometimes, but I try to stick to the sofa. If I go to be, it can take me hours before I get up. I always have a good long nap on holidays though, unless we're out for the whole day. A daily nap is one of my favourite things about holidays.

CremeEggThief · 18/08/2016 16:25

*bed

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 18/08/2016 16:27

Not now. I did when the DC were tiny if it was possible, but now the littlest one is 2, only if I stayed up particularly late/got up particularly early. I would sleep in a lot later than I am allowed to by said 2 year-old, though.

My mum does - she's 50 and needs a nap every afternoon, despite not working and having a hard life of walking the dogs/watching TV/cooking dinner and a very comfortable lifestyle. Her parents do it too and have napped as long as I can remember (so for the last 30 years anyway). I used to accept this without question but now I think it's a symptom of ongoing issues with depression/anxiety.

TheWeeBabySeamus1 · 18/08/2016 16:29

I bloody love a nap. It's the thing I miss most about my life pre-child - sad but true Grin

Definitely not unreasonable.

Doinmummy · 18/08/2016 16:29

Sonlypuppyfat I wake up odd too . I've been going to bed so late this week (2am ish) and getting up early . This morning I came over all exhausted at 11, so shut my eyes for a bit and woke up at 2 pm !

Have just been food shopping and spent way too much because I'm not really with it .

I wonder why a daytime nap makes you feel all sicky and odd?
