When people pull up outside your house early in the morning (to give a neighbour a lift) and they have the engine noisily 'idling' for 10 minutes or more instead of being considerate and turning the engine off while they wait.
Every sodding morning. Don't need to set an alarm.

It's not as if it's the middle of winter and the car needs warming up. It's not an old car either.

Lady nextdoor smokes in her garden right by the house against our fence. Smell comes in all of our windows. OH is asthmatic and I'm pregnant so it's making us feel really ill.
The lady who used to live here befriended the neighbourhood cats so they think it's fine to use our garden as their litter tray and our house as their own. Hate the damn things.
And one of the neighbours has really loud dogs who bark every morning between 7-7.30 to go out. They let them bark for at least 20mins/half an hour. They'll go out to them but won't tell them off. I want a lie in damn it!
Other than that they all seem ok :)

VioletBam · 16/08/2016 15:25

Gotta you can download apps which emit high pitched noises only dogs can hear. Get one of those...or, speak firmly to it yourself.

"No!" works with my dog.

Gottagetmoving · 16/08/2016 15:45

Yes, thanks - We did buy a device but the fence is high and it doesn't work through the fence. I should imagine the app would be the same?
We know it does work though because we tried it on a relatives dog when it was barking...with no fence in between us.
I don't blame the dog - it seems to be a nervous wreck..I blame the stupid owners.

DesolateWaist · 16/08/2016 17:10

Instead of training the dog or bringing it in, they shout 'Shut up!!!' from inside their house

Our neighbours seem to think that shouting 'shut up' at a dog will help too.

Ticks84 · 16/08/2016 17:45

We have a semi detached house. Neighbours have a dog that barks non stop from 7am till10pm, the family stay in all day so yell at it constantly to "shut the f up". They fight a lot for 2-3 hours, quite often at 10-11pm. They have put the TV on the adjoining wall and it's loud. They put the music on so loud you can hear it all through the house. They park their cars over our drive. I work from home three days a week. I hate spending time in my house Sad

MrJones1977 · 16/08/2016 17:46

My neighbours are alright. Although the woman on one side has told me she loves cock. Okay then. But wait, it gets so much better. Sat at home one weekend evening with my DP when we hear a noise coming through the wall. We were 'wtf was that' . It turns out someone was getting spanked quite hard and obviously really enjoying it. I damn near pisses myself laughing, it was definitely more entertaining than whatever we were watching. Anyone beat that?

PunkrockerGirl · 16/08/2016 17:51

Our's swear blind that their dog never barks when they're out. It does though, all the sodding time Confused
You're not at home to hear it you wankers

tygarugby · 16/08/2016 17:56

We have a neighbour who is a builder he has spent the past two years doing DIY at weekends improving his property......it's a choice over what is the most annoying the power tools or the radio,

idontlikealdi · 16/08/2016 17:58

Cannot go out and just close the door. SLAM. Every time. He leaves for work at 530am.

Every Sunday without fail they go out for lunch and get battered, roll home at about 9pm. 5 minutes later the child cries hysterically because he's probably over tired poor thing. Every Sunday without fail.

Gottagetmoving · 16/08/2016 18:05

The dog just thinks they are joining in with the barking. Grin
I wish a training course was compulsory for people getting a dog.

Pritchyx · 16/08/2016 18:06

I have a public pathway next to my house, however all the little shitbag kids from the entire street use my garden and path as the easy way to get to the alley upto the main road.. They also broke my little fence so they could use it Angry
Mentioned it a fair few times and asked nicely to stop using my garden path and to get off their bikes and use the steps instead. Get a barrage of abuse such as "fuck off you slag" "go fuck yourself" - these kids are aged about 7-11...

Also, I trapped my finger in the door the other day at about 9pm... I screamed in pain and she banged the wall and told me to shut the fuck up.
Another one is due to parking in our street, most days I'm last in and first out so we block each other in due to lack of parking outside the houses! I usually knock on and ask politely if whoever has blocked me in to swap spaces with me (usually about 7:30am so not unreasonable) and never any issues. God forbid I do it to next door (the one who banged on the wall)... Her husband is lovely and will knock on and ask nicely, however if I don't answer my door on the first time of her caving my door in, she bangs on twice as hard and for longer...
First time she did it, I thought it was the police! Angry

However, the neighbours are generally lovely and friendly, just the one side pisses me off more so than anything!

Gottagetmoving · 16/08/2016 18:08

Ticks84
I feel for you...that must be bloody awful. It's not fair when you can't bear to be in your own home.
I would have to kill them... Grin

Sallystyle · 16/08/2016 18:16

One neighbour smokes pot all the time, right outside my window so my house often smells of dope in the summer.

Another neighbour has a sociopathic child in the making, and I'm not joking.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 16/08/2016 18:16

My neighbour took his bin out at 2am last night? Just why? At that time of night a bloody wheelie bin could wake the dead.

Noregretsatall · 16/08/2016 18:27

Oh god, where do I start?! Dogs barking, kids yelling. Blocking our drive, dog crapping on our front lawn, drum and bass music into the wee small hours...constant (for the last three years now) building work on the house and the back garden so noise of power tools, clouds of dust drifting over. I pray a sink hole will open up under their house and swallow the fuckers....all of them.

Marysunshine · 16/08/2016 18:32

No problem with my neighbours - and don't cause them any ( as far as I know!).

However - a friend lives near a pair of grandparents whose family visit often and unleash their children into the garden where one girl cries endlessly. Feel sorry for the child if course, but cannot understand why the mother does not take her inside and shut the windows rather than forcing every single person in the area to listen to the hysterics.

eiledon · 16/08/2016 18:44

i love cats. if i lived alone on a big plot of land I'd have twenty of them. but i live in a cul-ed-sac so have none since ours died a couple of years ago. my neighbour is driving me and most of the other neighbours mad. she has started leaving out pies for the 'stray' cats. and I'm talking steak and kidney pies, mince and onion pies etc, food that is too rich for cats, then they shit it all out over our gardens. another neighbour has cats who are fed dry food and couldn't understand why their mess was getting so disgustingly runny and smelly. when he found out he was livid. another one has a dog who keeps putting on weight and she couldn't understand it. bloody thing was going next door for pie and chips!!!!!!! thing is the cats aren't strays. they're coming to her house because she feeds them, not because they need fed.

Janey50 · 16/08/2016 18:50

We had the neighbours from hell up until 5 years ago. Apart from smoking cannabis from the crack of dawn every day, they had a dog that barked and howled continually every time they went out,and the bloke was constantly on some DIY project,so every weekend we were subjected to drilling, hammering and sawing from 8 am until midnight. All this was in addition to loud rap music being blasted out any time of the day or night, constant visitors in and out of their flat mistakenly buzzing our intercom, and the woman shrieking and getting hysterically angry with anyone and everything. Numerous complaints to the council did little to help. Peace finally reigned when they moved out 5 years ago. Our new neighbours hardly make a sound. Bliss.

TesticleMeElmo · 16/08/2016 18:55

Ours spends all day in the back garden smoking weed. Or if it's raining, she spends the at in her bedroom smoking it with the windows wide open. I'm not judging because if that's what she wants to do, then fine. I just wish it didn't bloody stink so much 😡

Janey50 · 16/08/2016 18:59

Oh I forgot the best bit. On Christmas eve if 2009,he had been drilling and hammering for most of the day. It went quiet at 9.30pm for a couple of hours. Come 5 minutes to midnight, the drilling started again. I lost my temper and banged really hard,on the floor (they lived in the flat below us) with a broom handle. Their response? To bang back on their ceiling, telling me to 'shut the fuck up'. Right.

MrsMimmy · 16/08/2016 19:05

My upstairs neighbour verbally abuses her 6 month old baby; next door neighbour yells at her kids who are constantly naughty because that's the only time they get attention. Upstairs and next door have constant battle of the sound system fights. Landlord has rented our communal yard to people who illegally break cars and grow weed. My home & clothes constantly smell of old oil & drugs. I don't want my DS exposed to any of this. I hate where I live. Sorry for venting!!

sodabreadjam · 16/08/2016 19:12

Nice family with three lovely kids next door - not a lot to complain about. Couple of tiny things annoy. The man parks his car outside his house by reversing at a ridiculous speed right up the t-junction. He's going to hit someone's child or pet one of these days. He also revs his motorbike for half an hour at a time - seems unnecessary.

New neighbours over the back have pinned plastic bunting to the top of the fence and it spends most of the time flapping in our garden. I find it really ugly. If I wanted bunting I would buy it myself. The woman plays quite loud 90s music in her garden and sings along. She's not a good singer but seems to think that because we can't see her, we can't hear her. They have two small yappy dogs that seem to be set off by everything and nothing. To be fair, she frequently tells them to shut up.

LaurieF · 16/08/2016 19:47

We had neighbours who used to leave their wheelie bin out for days after the bin day.

Sounds really petty but we live on a cul de sac with private road down each side at the T junction, small driveway and narrow street so no on street parking and wheelie bins blocking the road 4 days after bin day!!

Oh and if that's not lazy enough when they eventually took them in they used to drive up to them, open car door and drive back down the 20 metres to their door dragging the wheelie bin alongside the car...

Octonautstotherescue · 16/08/2016 20:29

Randomly commenting on our garden disapprovingly - we apparently are 'not gardeners' we've since cultivated some nice wild flowers which will seed and pollute their borders shortly !

Believeitornot · 16/08/2016 20:49

Our bastard neighbours have young children who like to play football, banging their fucking football against the fence and balls coming over constantly. They swear so loudly (the kids) - so much so I don't like my DCs outside.
The parents have horrible screechy voices and the woman cackles.
Arses.
