Child Maintenance stopped because he took them on holiday

Weekly child maintenance payment didn't go into the bank today. Private arrangement, not through CSA or whatever its called now. Text ex to ask why the money hadn't gone in and he says he cancelled it because he took them on holiday last week so I didn't have financial responsibility for the Dc, so why should he pay when he had them.

Is he being unreasonable?

Hey, so im a dad so you can start hating on me straight away if you wish.
so im currently going through the same thing with the mother of my child, i give her £130 every 4 weeks for my 1 and only son, i have him 182 nights of the year, so we have him half each, we have a private arrangement also as i refused to go through csa as she would only get £54 and i didnt think that was fair until she started being unreasonable when i also questioned holidays etc and didnt like my answer, so i contacted the Child maintenance service. and this is what they said.

The money that the other parent receives is to contribute towards the care for that child or children. if they are not in your care for that week the unfortunately unless you have a case already with the CSA, the paying parent doesn't have to oblige to paying child maintenance for that week because he is already spending the money he would give you on his holiday with the kids

hope it helps.

Well Unknown23 probably won't help as the post was from 2 years ago
and secondly that is bollocks anyway, noone from the CMS would tell you that maintenance is paid on an ad hoc basis. Good try though.

By the way you don't get slated on here for being male or a dad but you do if you spout nonsense!
