A man when very drunk compared me and supermodelfriend to first division and premier league, looks-wise?! What does this even mean.

TroysMammy · 07/06/2016 16:13

It means he's a twat.

nobilityobliges · 07/06/2016 16:13

Well, yeah that was obviously an offensive thing to say. But he was obviously a cock so I wouldn't dwell on it.

CaptainCrunch · 07/06/2016 16:13

That he's a stupid sexist cunt and drunk to boot?

TheHiphopopotamus · 07/06/2016 16:13

It means he's an arsehole who shouldn't be let loose in public.

sayamanara · 07/06/2016 16:13

Yes I thought so... Out of interest am I right in thinking first division are significantly shitter than premier league?

OP posts:
CaptainCrunch · 07/06/2016 16:15

...that woudl entirely depend on which team you supported.

sayamanara · 07/06/2016 16:16

I weirdly think he was trying to be nice. We were both drunk and I stupidly asked if he thought she was better-looking. He kept avoiding the question and saying we were both attractive and then said "yes but there's no difference really, it's like x and y, basucally the same thing?!" I do know I need to work on my self-esteem. But I don't think he was trying to be a dick.

OP posts:
sayamanara · 07/06/2016 16:17

Also she is basucally a supermodel and I'm really, really not!

OP posts:
LittleLionMansMummy · 07/06/2016 16:17

It means he's most likely destined for a lonely life with only his right hand for company. Twat.

bombayflambe · 07/06/2016 16:17

It's basically saying that you are a 8 and she's a 10.

...I'd be chuffed with either of those (bitter old 2).

OrianaBanana · 07/06/2016 16:18

Well, you asked him! What did you want him to say??

GloGirl · 07/06/2016 16:19

I've learnt you should never get drunk people to try and make you feel better about yourself Flowers

sayamanara · 07/06/2016 16:20

Yes I know, thanks everyone, I walked right into it! Blush

OP posts:
UmbongoUnchained · 07/06/2016 16:21

If you know she's more attractive than you then why did you ask? Just makes it awkward for everyone.

iklboo · 07/06/2016 16:22

I'd have told him he was Sunday pub five a side. Second reserve team.

sayamanara · 07/06/2016 16:23

Well i guess because to all intent and purposes he was interested in me and chatting to me all evening. He asked me to come to his house after. I felt he was out of my league though.

OP posts:
araiba · 07/06/2016 16:23

premier league
championship
division 1

could be worse- he could have said you were scottish football

sayamanara · 07/06/2016 16:24

She was basucally out of bounds (his best friend's sister) and he was focused on me all evening. But I couldn't shake the thought I was some kind of booby prize (scuse the pun) and he didn't actually like me

OP posts:
sayamanara · 07/06/2016 16:25

Oh so first division is actually pretty shit. Ffs

OP posts:
MardyGrave · 07/06/2016 16:26

It sounds like the issue is yours, and your low self esteem needled that answer out of him. Being that needy for validation isn't attractive in anyone.

sayamanara · 07/06/2016 16:28

I know. Thankfully he was very drunk and didn't remember anything the next day.

OP posts:
sayamanara · 07/06/2016 16:28

I need to get over the issue myself.

Ugh you kept asking him if he thought she was better looking? You were being silly. Why t would you do that? You actually were trying to goad him into telling you were munters compared to your friend???

ricketytickety · 07/06/2016 16:29

Out of your league? he sounds like he's in a league of his own!!! Sounds very much like he was running you down a bit so you were more suscpetible to his charms. It's a tactic designed to make you think you need to impress him.

Just because your mate is 'supermodel' like doesn't mean you aren't a beauty too. Some will like tall, some short, some like curvy, some slight. It's different strokes for different folks.

bombayflambe · 07/06/2016 16:29

No it's not shit. It's 8/10....there are loads of different leagues.
He fancied you. You got pissed and put him on the spot. He didn't want to lie, especially if she is properly model stunning so tried to compliment both of you. I feel a little sorry for him.
