if I refuse to pick DH up?

We live in the arse end of nowhere. DH has been into the city for a work event. Unfortunately it over ran. He now can't make his train connection to get home and needs collecting from the station where he normally changes to the local service.

This means I will miss The Eurovision Song Contest. AIBU if I leave him to walk home? It should only take him around 5 or 6 hours, down unlit lanes through pit black forest.

Of course YANBU, Eurovision is sacred and only once a year. He must learn a valuable lesson

Can he not rustle up a primitive shelter in the forest and camp. Then you can pick him up in the morning.

He's a bit worried about the wolves in the forest (we're not in the UK). I think this will help motivate him to walk quicker.

I would rather miss the Eurovision than deal with the moaning and sulking that will happen if I didn't. My dh can sulk for England

YANBU. Nothing comes before Eurovision. In fact, given that your DH prioritised work over Eurovision, you should probably LTB.

Eurovision is an annual event so that should be your priority.

I think there are only 3 possible solutions

1. LTB

2.teach him a very valuable lesson and make him walk home

1. Let the wolves eat him (this has the added bonus on no sulking or moaning )

I think you need to compromise. If he makes it through the forest alive you'll come pick him up

But only if he brings wine and snacks foolme

He was supposed to buy the snacks on the way home so either way Eurovision is ruined.

or huddle up with the pigeons/penguins/buzzards/emus/pterosaurs (I don't know where you live, delete as applicable for your locale)

PS if you make him walk home, check his life insurance for one of those 'you get nada if you're dumb enough to be eaten by wolves' clauses.

I don't think that humans are all that tasty for wolves, so they'd probably just maul him a bit. (Or am I confusing them with sharks? Or Orcas?)
