That, basically. Was just reading the £3000 holiday to Scotland nonsense when mumsnet deleted it. What do these people achieve? Can't be notoriety as they are anonymous. What could anyone possibly get out of making this sort of shit up?

I've also wondered that too! Usually the threads are really mundane as well. Some people are just strange and don't get out enough!

£3000 for a trip to Scotland though, even if you are funny about peeling wallpaper and hard beds .

I reckon that on the back of the 'cancel the cheque' drama there's going to be more and more of this sort of thing. People hoping the DM will contact them and then they'll have their names in lights and it's a short hop from there to CBB! Either that or they've got horrid empty little lives, the batteries are flat in their Rabbits and their troll husbands are at the International Convention of Hairy Handed Fuckbuckets!

I can never spot them myself. I am always shocked at why some people need to check usernames for posting history so they can call out trolls!

It just causes people to think most threads are trolls. It's really weird way to get your kicks. I started a thread and people suggested I was a troll and it upset me. I can imagine some posters never coming back which is awful. Then you get people making stuff up for attention, which seems sad in its own way.

I am expecting twins. I have however never been to Maui nor do I have a very succesful children's entertainment business.
