To ask why anyone would be a 'troll' and start a completely false thread?

That, basically. Was just reading the £3000 holiday to Scotland nonsense when mumsnet deleted it. What do these people achieve? Can't be notoriety as they are anonymous. What could anyone possibly get out of making this sort of shit up?

i always want to start a thread about my fat council mil giving my sen child sweets whilst parked in a disabled bay outside lidl reading the daily mail after playing golf and being drunk the night before.

i think it would tick most mn boxes to ensure many epic replies

Suit yourself - you posted about it Hmm

x2boys · 15/05/2016 09:25

I was replying to a comment but never mind others must also read it to know what's in it so they can complain about it .

wasonthelist · 15/05/2016 09:28

I read discarded ones on the train every now and again so I don't have to pay money for the shitrag.

crankyblob · 15/05/2016 09:33

My point about the mail is that hating it is very much a MN consenses as is calling out trolls and reverses etc.

It is what I love about the MN community and you don't get it with other sites but the downside is you will attract these exact things for people who feel particularly goady.

it is fact that troll threads get a huge response which is exactly what they want!

Only1scoop · 15/05/2016 09:39

I reported one as soon it started the other day. I looked yesterday it had reached over 700 posts....

Then got deleted. It

Felt really proud of my MN spidey senses.

x2boys · 15/05/2016 09:39

I know when my sil used to lie I honestly believe that she believed what she was saying even though her lies could be proven .

The threads about trolls are probably as numerous and popular as the troll threads themselves. In this way, trolls can read about their 'achievements' long after they've been deleted.
