I'm feeling a bit low today. This rarely happens and there is nothing really specific that has made me feel this way although I think I am just rather tired from looking after DS and feeling as though my career isn't where it should be.

I know I have a lot to be grateful for and I know I need to snap out of this ridiculous mood as I don't like to feel so low when looking after DS, I find myself more snappy and less patient.

AIBU to ask what little things you do to give your mood a boost? Thank you.

Walking helps. And any exercise. Esp yoga. I am v interested in mindfulness. I like all the principals. I feel exactly like you.

Different things depending why I'm feelkng low and what my options are - a walk in the sunshine, a coffee in a nice cafe, time with friends, get out for a good hike in whatever the weather is, cook myself a super tasty meal, watch an episode of something I like watching, do some organising like sort out a wardrobe or something so I can feel I've achieved something and have got rid of some clutter.

I make a lovely cup of tea, eat some chocolate, put on my favourite music and dance to it like a loon.

If that doesn't work then I leave DH to deal with the children when he gets home and I have a bath.

Stretches (if I can't go out)
Reading

If all else fails a cup of tea and a big bar of chocolate when the kids are in bed

I stuff myself to the top with crisps and chocolate.
Go out and have coffee with friends.

Can't have a bath alone, can't even have a piss alone these days, so I have to get away, Just for an hour, but away from it all.

Take a break puzzles

Mind numbingly simple, but require that bit of concentration. Therefore it's not too taxing that I get all 'I can't do aaaaaaanything right' but enough to concentrate on something. That usually takes me out of my down if it's a simple bit of 'lowness'

Long hot bath with candels and luxury smelly stuff :)

Curling up in bed with a bag of cookies and Netflix

Sewing/knitting locking myself away in my sewing room with all my lovely lovely books and fabric :)

If I can't physically escape, I give myself a good talking to about having all the good things I have, I list them in my head!! Then remind myself there are people far worse off.
Of course physically escaping is far far better Grin

Watch something silly on the TV.

Flick through Heat magazine with a friend and laugh at the daft celebrities.

When I leave my mums on a Saturday and she is hard work and critical so I often feel shit. I turn the radio up and sing my head off. Works wonders for me x

Despite the fact that I adore shopping, it doesn't cheer me up. I only enjoy it when I'm already happy.

If I'm glum then it's straight to my old friends the sofa, the telly and some nice food and a soduko or two.

Take a big load of old clothes to the charity shop. This always works for me.

Chocolate and biscuits. But that's why I'm a size 20 so I don't recommend it!
