The consultant should be round soon.

Can you asked...

"What potential complications are there when you done poo for 5 weeks and 3 days."

Get them to list them.

"Does she show any evidence of having any of these problems?"

"What is the longest you have personally seen a child not poo?"

"What are the downsides of doing surgery today?"

be very very persistent. This is your baby. Fight for her.

ilovemakkapakka · 14/04/2016 09:29

Flowers for poor littlemae and her DD. I don't know if it will help but have asked mumsnet if they might be able to shame this hospital into doing something? Bad publicity never welcome.

GuinefortGrey · 14/04/2016 09:33

Very late to this thread and spent last night reading. I am horrified by the treatment you have received. Feel so helpless on your behalf. Who is your MP? Can we all email him/her this morning and alert to your situation. Sounds like you really need someone with "authority" to step in on your behalf since no one at the hospital is listening. Thinking of you and your LO x

glueandstick · 14/04/2016 09:34

I'd second Sheffield as an excellent place to go. They are by far the best NHS hospital I have seen working. The staff are excellent and it

glueandstick · 14/04/2016 09:35

Hit post by accident...

It was an honour to see them at work. I have deep deep respect for them.

TheFairyCaravan · 14/04/2016 09:54

this is the consultant they need to speak to at Leicester. Obviously that's his private page, but he does work in the NHS too.

I'm so sorry this is still go on Littlemae it's really not acceptable.

Hufflepuffin · 14/04/2016 09:57

www.spirehealthcare.com/leicester/our-facilities-treatments-and-consultants/our-consultants/dr-hemant-bhavsar/ I think this is the link the fairy caravan was trying to post

TheFairyCaravan · 14/04/2016 09:59

Thanks Huffle.

I would choose Leicester over GOSH for something like this. GOSH is great if kids are very complex and quite shocking if they aren't.

Kleen Prep can take ages to work if they are really backed up. I know kids that have taken ten litres of Kleen Prep before they started to poo, and that's kids with a colostomy so they've less bowel for it to travel through.

I did PM you about a closed Facebook group for parents of kids with bladder and bowel problems, not sure if you saw it, it's run by the Breakaway Foundation which is the only UK wide charity for kids with bladder/bowel diversions and dysfunction.

Sadly your story isn't unique and we've loads of parents who've been through the same.

southwest1 · 14/04/2016 10:27

It's Ward Ten that you want at Leicester Royal. If you get desperate PM me as I can contact the Gastro nurse there and see if she can speed things up.

summerdreams · 14/04/2016 10:37

My sons under gosh gastro team for similar but less severe issues and they have been amazing.

landrover · 14/04/2016 10:43

Not helpful I know, but this is truly awful Shock

WellErrr · 14/04/2016 10:46

I'm so sorry this is still going on. Don't let them kick you out for the weekend!

fraggle84 · 14/04/2016 11:01

Thinking of you both, I hope you are getting somewhere with the transfer to a larger hospital and that her pain has settled

Alexa444 · 14/04/2016 11:08

This is fucking ridiculous, how long does this poor child have to suffer before they get it together and manually extract it. I really wish I was near you OP, I'd be up there kicking off on your behalf. They can't just keep bloody procrastinating.

cestlavielife · 14/04/2016 11:09

You need to focus on pals and senior consultant.

Mp can write letters but can't make medical decisions

You need medical decisions at this stage.

GoodStuffAnnie · 14/04/2016 11:11

It's nice to have people on the thread with some experience.

I would definitely join the Facebook group.

summerdreams how and who referred you to gosh? Do you think it would be helpful if Mae rang your consultants secretary?

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 14/04/2016 11:14

This must be absolutely unbearable for you, you must be feeling abandoned, hopeless, out of control and exhausted. I wish I could come and stand next to you whilst the doctors and nurses proclaimed that your daughter isn't "one of the sick ones".

Do contact PALS, even if it doesn't get the results you need, it might make them more inclined to transfer you to another (more suitable) hospital.

Wafflenose · 14/04/2016 11:17

Where is your consultant in all this?

LaContessaDiPlump · 14/04/2016 11:38

I was thinking the same GoodStuffAnnie - moral support is one thing but practical support is invaluable!

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 14/04/2016 11:41

I want to cry for you and your daughter. She must be in so much pain.

I wish I could do something and I'm just words on a screen, I can't imagine how you must be feeling Flowers

Blizy · 14/04/2016 12:08

I've been following this thread from the beginning. I'm just astounded that the so called professionals can leave your poor little girl in this state. I hope to god they Buck their ideas and help her.
You are an amazing Mum, and your devotion to dd shows on our posting.

MyFavouriteClintonisGeorge · 14/04/2016 12:19

All I can suggest is to keep reiterating that your little DD has changed and you want the consultant to come and see her. Once your DH is there then if you know consultant's number, one of you can ring his/her secretary and plead for the consultant to come. The secretary may get you seen faster than the ward staff.

summerdreams · 14/04/2016 13:22

goodstuffannie I did give the name further down the thread my son see's a dr hill. We got reffered by our pead and gosh is our local childrens hospital. The only thing I can think of if your ring gosh switchboard and ask for the on call gastroenterologist im sure they put you through I've seen gps and other drs do it 02074059200
