To put away my winter clothes?

Is it too soon to pack up my thick tights, vests, woollen jumpers and polar explorer coat? I'm home with the DCs for Easter and in the mood for putting all the winter stuff away and embracing spring. I want to say goodbye to hats, gloves, the lot of it and not see it again for months. AIBU? Will I regret it a week from now?

Noooo don't do it! The winter clothes are like a magic umbrella! If you've got it with you, it won't rain.

It's really hard to know when to do it. It was snowing Last week but lovely and sunny today, but was only 3 c this morning.

Bugger. I just want bloody winter to be over.

When do people do it? I'm trying to remember here, its probably something awful like the middle of May.

I know what you mean...winter seems to have gone on forever this year. I've been wondering when to take my bulky warm jackets off the downstairs coat hooks but have held off so far...

LIve in the North West, didn't wear summer clothes at all last year ...

I like to pack away things made from wool and my heaviest winter coat, also the DCs hats and gloves, then get out some of the lighter summer stuff. Its such a great feeling but yes it is probably too soon. I wonder when it is really time to do it? Easter is confusingly early this year. I have family photos of us at Easter in short sleeves in the past, that was what got me thinking.

It can mean the end of May, but also referred to when the blossom on the Hawthorn trees were blooming., which could be late April.
So don't put your winter clothes away until the Hawthorn blossom is blooming.

I don't have winter clothes as such, just varying degrees of layers. Living near the cost means the wind is fierce and I need a 'winter' coat in June sometimes.

I look at relatives on the continent with envy. They pack away their winter clothes at
around Easter and then live in shorts and t-shirts until early September. I don't even own shorts...

You need to lag your kidneys till the middle of May.

There is ALWAYS a lovely sunny week or two at about Easterish... Everyone gets all BLOODY excited, get their summer stuff out, then it's shit till at least June. EVERY single year!

Except for the first time DD saw snow, which was Easter.

I'm in Liverpool, the mornings are nice, but by about 3pm the wind is very chilly and if your children go out in the evening, here they'd still need hats and gloves.

Easter is early, almost by a month, compared to some years, so it's going to be colder over the holidays, than many are used to.

I was wondering about this earlier. Lots of clothes but very little space mean I vacuum pack and store winter or summer clothes depending on time of year.

I tend to swap to Summer at Easter and back to Winter when the schools go back.

It's really things like heavy coats and thick cardigans, or light/linen dresses which are very season specific that get tidied away. Stuff that can be layered or worn with either thick tights or summer tights just stays in the wardrobe.

Changing them over though, cheers me up and I look forward to it in the preceding weeks. God I'm sad
