Just what the title says really.

Theres 10 years between me and my partner, we had some negitive comments and people saying we wouldn't last because a maturity issues but we've been together 4 years now!

That's great. You are happy and it's worked out.

But I still understand people's concerns.

As for your friends, some people always take it badly when the status quo changes. Or they may have been genuinely concerned you took too much on.

Either way, it doesn't matter if you are happy

I think sometime's we just have to live and let live . my mum was 16 and my dad was 27 i didn't notice the age gap it was my mum and dad . but thier relationship from mine and my sister point of view was devastating. my dad was controlling and my mum was young and didn't push back .but by the time i was about 5 my mum had grown up a lot she started to want a better life and work my dad then went from controlling her to pshyisacal beating her ... She was such a dot my mum she would look like mick jaggar the next day ... I understand why people get worried about age gap relationship . and i know my mum's was just young and vulnerable but not everyone want's to take advantage of a young person .sometime's they just genuinely fall in love .
