To think the 'Disrespect NoBody' ad campaign is horribly sexist?

Not sure if this has already been discussed but has anybody else seen the 'Disrespect NoBody' TV adverts that are supposedly raising awareness for healthy relationships and domestic violence?

Every single scenario in the advert is targeted at men abusing women whether it be physically or emotionally. Y'know because men are never victims?

But do they actually seriously expect us to believe that they all came across this independently on google? Grin

I know Grin
But the thing is, they generally think that women are less than them. And as we've had a fairly good demonstration of their intelligence levels.....it doesn't look good for what they'll think of ours Wink

Have you noticed how they seem to be trying to rustle up some more coherent and intelligent sounding posters each time? And each time the pseudo-intelligence is getting worse?
That letsbefair had been trying so hard with Google quotes and a thesaurus it was almost gibberish Grin

Oh well. Threads almost full at least!

OhShutUpThomas · 05/03/2016 09:20

Women laughing at men needs to be outlawed.

But what if it's really, really funny?

It's absolutely disgusting how many women have been laughing at men just on this thread alone

DISGASTING!
How dare we laugh at nasty and abusive men.
Tell me, what should we do?
Agree with them?
Compliment them?
Or ignore them and get back in the kitchen?

OhShutUpThomas · 05/03/2016 09:22

eating I do of course recognise the tone of your post Wink Grin

eatingworms · 05/03/2016 09:33

Speak when spoken to, and then only in agreement.

eatingworms I'll sign that petition if you can be bothered to start one up.

Can we highlight the particularly distressing habit some women have of laughing at middle aged men dressed as teenagers or in other clothing we nerdily deem inappropriate?

That was pointed out as an egregious example of female oppression by one poster. Reading between the lines, I suspect his tormentor tore his much loved Iron Maiden t shirt up for cleaning rags and then cackled as she polished her sideboard with it.

He was just too ashamed of ridicule to share the full story Sad

LazySusan11 · 05/03/2016 09:37

So far I've only seen it past the watershed, I think it should be on earlier it carries an important message.

RufusTheReindeer · 05/03/2016 09:38

I struggled with zig mark one, i completely lost it with letsbeabunch of wankers

honestly i do not get people, how absolutely pathetic to spend your time googling womens sites to yell at them

Is it the lack of sex do you think, i remember being told that not having sex caused acne but is it also a leading cause of making some men stupid?

And lying about reading the thread Shock

Honestly i despair i really do

Fact

I live in band tshirts (i have said before that i dress like a teenage boy!!) shame he thinks its all women as we could be made for one another. Sadly for said poster, i already have a keeper. Sorry, husband.
Though i imagine he would rather his lady friend made more of an effort, and sees no irony in that at all...!

limitedperiodonly · 05/03/2016 10:00

Just say it's a fact anyway. They'll probably quote it next time they rant about the feminisation of the education system, which as we all know, is the only reason why some boys fail.

Schools should pull the girls aside and tell them to have sex with any teenage boy who grunts at them to even up the score.

PosieReturningParker · 05/03/2016 10:05

Holy Moley....

Just stumbled across a MRA site. It's so weird and needy, full of absolute bullshit too..... I think you have to be a friendless moron to join.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 05/03/2016 10:06

please don't use "Moron" in that context.

Btw, a google search has brought up a private community called "mumsnet" on reddit - that'll be where they all are

under, that is interesting. I'd long suspected it, or something like it. Bless their pathetic little socks

I beg your pudding?

OhShutUpThomas · 05/03/2016 10:25

Moron is non pc now.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 05/03/2016 10:27

I beg your pudding?

You are comparing abusive Twats, to those with learning disabilities.

OhShutUpThomas · 05/03/2016 10:36

Tbh though Jason, I'm not sure I agree with that.

I have never heard moron used to describe people with learning difficulties - only the wilfully ignorant such as on this thread.

But I know it offends some people so I don't use it.

BeyondTellsEveryoneRealFacts · 05/03/2016 10:39

Moron does make me wince, but its not the worst choice of word.

Weirdly, "pc" wise (irgh, i hate the term "pc"!) idiot is "okay", despite also (iirc) being a category of LD in olden days

Jasonandyawegunorts · 05/03/2016 10:41

It's far far better than "retarded", that's for sure.

PosieReturningParker · 05/03/2016 11:05

Moron, aside from people who have explicitly looked into the etymology is just a word for stupid person. No one in living memory has used moron to mean person of a learning age under thirteen, or whatever it used to mean from memory.

PosieReturningParker · 05/03/2016 11:06

Greek Moron means foolish, which is where it comes from.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 05/03/2016 11:11

Regardless there are people today, on this forum who find it offensive.

BeyondTellsEveryoneRealFacts · 05/03/2016 11:11

In welsh it means 'carrot'
