Yanbu, I think people who complain about fb are the ones with the problem as it's obviously the friends they have on there that's annoying them. If it's bothering you then you aren't using it properly.

Thing is there is more or less a section for most things on MN but you'll always get people posting here or Chat 'for traffic'. I can't get to worked up about it tbh.

Coco - yes!! I can't stand the negativity about facebook. If you don't like it don't bloody use it then! I think it's great. I only follow people/pages I'm actually interested in and -surprise- it's actually an enjoyable experience.

People use the correct topics on MN? Not a chance. AIBU/Chat for everything 'for traffic'. Instant replies and lots of them, not languishing in the correct topic that people might have hidden.

why do people get so upset when someone else says they hate facebook? do they take it as a personnel insult or something?

I'm not upset, it's irritating, not upsetting.

I don't like cheese but I don't complain that I bought all this cheese and now it tastes disgusting and is making me fat.

I didn't start this thread as yet another Facebook good/bad discussion. We've all given our opinions on that before I think it's shite.

I just looked at chat, the first four posts on my list were about cars, homes, pregnancy and weight. They all have a separate board but the posters didn't post there. Are you mad at them too?

And if the subject isn't clear, is it really that taxing to open the thread, realise you're not interested and close it again?

I frequently post om those threads pointing out that FB is a platform and really not responsible for the quality (or lack of) of your friends. YANBU.

the people who think the people above are cunts. Spend much time posting snopes, huff post and links to the onion. Very contrary- ie spending huge amounts of time perfecting prose on why the motherhood challenge is shit. Think too hard, are massively over engaged in Facebook whilst also thinking they're too good for FB (also see: coming onto MN to do whole posts criticing red corner)

I like facebook 95% of the time, that'll do me. I put up with the naff stuff for all the good stuff.

I wish people who moan about FB got rid of FB instead of moaning about people doing it wrong.

Post pictures of your kids and you are smug. Talking about your holiday is boasting, talking about your child's achievements is boasting and if you dare say anything nice about your husband then that means you are really heading for the divorce courts.

WTF is FB for if it isn't for sharing things?

I think those who look at things that way are the ones who are bitter and unhappy because I am happy to see my friend's posting about things that have made them happy.
