The wrong fucking wine!!!

Ocado delivered the wrong wine today. I rang them 10 minutes later and they said that they would send the driver back within the hour to collect.
He didn't come back so I emailed them, they offered a 3 hour slot for collection which I wasn't happy with so offered 3 alternative 1 hour slots.
They have said its a 3 hour slot or fuck off basically.
Do I say ok? I feel really annoyed that they expect me to be ok with this but I'm being unreasonable aren't I?

Interested to know what kind of wine can be "wrong" Grin. I've had wrong stuff delivered before from Tesco and just told them flatly I wasn't paying for it so refund my account and usually ended up keeping the product as it's too much hassle to return.

BaronessBomburst · 29/01/2016 15:17

You can get wine delivered in England? ShockWineEnvy

MrsTerryPratchett · 29/01/2016 15:25

Was it Chardonnay? In which case, declare a War and nuke them from space.

Thankfully DH knows and once, when he bought it, was more horrified than I and got his coat on again before I could say anything. Wine

Katedotness1963 · 29/01/2016 15:32

Where can you not get wine delivered? Tesco delivers booze in Scotland...

CaptainCrunch · 29/01/2016 15:34

Boak to chardonnay, that does define the wrong wine.

MrsTerryPratchett · 29/01/2016 15:36

In Canada you can't even buy wine in the supermarket. You have to go to an offie. Bloody stupid rule.

kappadelta · 29/01/2016 15:39

I'm being unreasonable aren't I? It's their shitty attitude I hate.

Why the Chardonnay hate? Modern Chardonnay can be delicious if you spend a few quid.

jonquil1 · 29/01/2016 15:42

After my sil went to a wine tasting session run by a sommelier friend of ours she tolerates Chardonnay as long as it is un-oaked....oops, or do I mean oaked?

Confused Blush

anyway! According to her, one of them is U and the other, the common one, definitely NON .

Me? Can't be arsed. Just fill me glass, will ya?

BolshierAryaStark · 29/01/2016 15:42

Note to self not to move to Canada.
Yes, if it's Chardonnay tell them to shove it up their arse, vile stuff.

Chewbecca · 29/01/2016 15:42

I don't think you are being unreasonable.

Since it isn't what you ordered, are they offering to refund?

PeterGriffinsPenisBeaker · 29/01/2016 15:42

😄 Mrs TP.

OP I'd have chased the van down the drive if he'd delivered the wrong wine. And twatted him over the head with it after he gave me MY wine back. How bloody rude! I take it they downgraded rather than upgraded the vintage in question? Grin

Hobbes8 · 29/01/2016 15:45

Do you order from them regularly. You can normally just hand it back at the next delivery for a refund. You still have no wine now though. Meh.

MoreGilmoreGirls · 29/01/2016 15:46

Urgh to Chardonnay. The MIL drinks it and calls it "Chards" (misses point)

SquirrelledAway · 29/01/2016 15:46

You've obviously not had Cloudy Bay Chardonnay.

kappadelta · 29/01/2016 15:47

It's my first order a downgrade on the vintage.

OP posts:
Chewbecca · 29/01/2016 15:51

It is the same wine but a different year?

ratspeaker · 29/01/2016 15:54

Supermarkets will deliver wine, beer, spirits along with your grocery shop within licensing hours obviously. ( 10 am -10 pm in Scotland)
There are also companies who will deliver wine by the case, Virgin wine club, Tesco, Waitrose and so on.

OP, Id be annoyed at having to hang around when it was someone elses mistake but I suppose it's either wait or keep the wrong wine.
What did they send btw?

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/01/2016 16:06

unoaked Chardonnay is lovely.

Would a Chardonnay hater turn down a white burgundy grand cru?.

Ginmakesitallok · 29/01/2016 16:09

Chardonnay is fine.

Finola1step · 29/01/2016 16:09

Blue Nun?

FatherReboolaConundrum · 29/01/2016 16:12

Was it ?

LollyScramble · 29/01/2016 16:20

I have done maybe over 50 wine tastings in vineyards in my life: in France, South Africa, Western Australia, and New Zealand.

I LOVE CHARDONNAY AND I'M NOT AFRAID TO SAY IT

mirpuppet · 29/01/2016 16:25

You are not being unreasonable.

They should just refund your money. Unless it is a case of wine.

Dumdedumdedum · 29/01/2016 16:26

Oooh, yes, a nice glass of Meursault (Chardonnay grape, fermented and aged in oak barrels) would go down a treat now.
