I don't really have an opinion on Katie Derham other than seeing her a few times on Strictly, she seems nice enough. I don't get how she is a not woman's woman. Or why we all have to be women's women, whatever that is.
I think I would be a bit offended if someone suggested that I was going to cheat on my husband too.

TBH I think it's Platell who is being anti women

I've not read it, but Platell is a festering, poisonous turd at the best of times so I'm sure you're right. But then what do you expect? Her job is to sneer at other women, that's what the Fail pay her for.

Amanda Platell loses no opportunity to be bitchy about other women, and she has absolutely no interest in applying a modicum of intelligence to what she says, or doing out anything as boring as checking the facts. If anyone isn't a woman's woman, it's her.

She is an absolutely evil witch at the best of times, but this article is a new low I feel. But I also think that maybe giving her a thread on MN is feeding the beast if you get what I mean? Not to have a dig at you or anything OP, because I am in complete agreement with you.

Wow. I read the article and it's weird - quite nice compliments (Elle Macpherson body double), combined with absolute poison. She sounds totally unstable (the writer not Katie).

Now, whilst Katie's smile does irritate me, and whilst my 7yo daughter cried as both her favourites were in the dance-off, there is really no need for such a downright horrible, mean and schoolgirl-ish article.

Grow up, woman!

I understand what you mean about 'feeding the beast' and I think that's true. I was just taken aback by this article. I don't even read the DM v often but was looking for a another topic when I spotted that one and was just a bit Shock

I think nasty bitchy and pointless is an apt description of almost everything Amanda Platell has ever written. The DM must pay a hell of a lot of money to their female writers to just be able to say to them 'write another woman hating piece of shit' and get so many women to do it!

I read this thread then went to read the article. Wow. What a bitch! Personally I think Katie exudes class and seems a nice person. And I read the article where she was offended when asked about the 'Strictly curse' and I didn't blame her one bit for what she said about it!

It is vile - poor Katie (and her daughter seems lovely so she hasn't done too bad as a mum!). You don't get to be successful at anything without a bit of drive, or grit, or competitiveness-so why belittle those characteristics?
