To wash the sheets every time ds spits up?

Ds is almost 8mo and has discovered he can roll and does it in his cot, this usually results in him being a bit sick or at the very least dribbling all over the sheet. I put a muslin or blanket over the sheet but sometimes it leaks through. I usually just change the sheet but Dp says that if it is just a little bit it is fine to just dry it of with a cloth or muslin.. Am I being a bit precious changing it every time??i know I wouldn't like to lie on a damp sheet..

I bought value towels for DD1 as they are more absorbent and beat changing sheets in the middle of the night

Where do you get them? Just in a normal shop?

I change the sheet in baby's cot every time he is sick on it. I don't want his face pressed up against sick residue.

I used to put multiple sheets on the cot with a waterproof pad in between each layer, I had loads of sheets.
I don't like the baby lying on dried sick it smells bad and can't be good for their sensitive skin even if dried out.

I have 2 DC who both had reflux so we had a lot of sick in their beds! Sometimes just a little, sometimes lots and lots but I always changed the sheet, same with Moses basket etc. I wouldn't want to lie in sick, even if it's just a little bit and like a pp says, it does start to smell.

I'm pregnant with dc3 and with this one, to save time, I'll do as a pp said and layer them with waterproof sheets in between to save time, especially at night!

If it was just a tiny bit of drool, I might not, but sick, definitely requires a change for me

DS has reflux so if I changed the bed every time he was sick, I'd get through all my sheets. If it's just a little bit I leave it. If it's a massive patch I change it

I would change sicky sheets.

If it dries quickly I might go a week before washing. You know we evolved to deal quite well with a bit of gunk & germs.

I used to rotate the sheet so the sticky bit is the other end of the cot.

I put another small double-folded sheet across the bed , like an old-fashioned hospital bed drawsheet & changed that daily, rather than changing everything. It was well tucked in, so no risk of his getting tangled. I used a muslin when he was small enough to still be in the carrycot.

Dribble I'd blot and ignore, milkypuke I'd change if they were going to be lying in it, otherwise not, certainly not in the middle of the night. I'd put a towel or blanket over it, hate waking them up fully in the night if it can be avoided at all.
But layering up the sheets is a great idea.
You can do the same with bin liners.

you could put an draw sheet across the top then you can just change that sheet without taking all the bedding off

If actual sick soaked through I'd change it. But a bit of spit up... I'd put a new muslin down, or turn sheet around so head part is on feet part first. Too much washing anyway with a baby..

Well that is the least of my probs now. Ds has been screaming for 2 hours since I put him to bed and dp is working til 4am. Think it's gonna be a long night!

Why don't you go and cuddle him? Or lie with him?

We used to put towels on top of the sheets and change them. It was easier than changing the entire bed each time
But every couple of days is enough

Please tell me you haven't been allowing an 8 month old to scream for two hours.

Obviously I haven't been leaving him to cry on his own for hours. I got him up And took him to my bed for s cuddle, changed him, cooled him down, let him lie on the floor watching nursery rhymes and he calmed down so I put him back to bed and it started back up ahain. He's teething.
