DS2 is catching up with last nights DW....I really miss perving over Matt Smith and David Tennant et al. Peter Calpaldi just seems too old, although I loved him as Malcolm Tucker!

Matt smith really he was very chinny Grin i think pc is very fanciable as The Doctor pity his storylines are crap

LumpySpacedPrincess · 01/11/2015 13:10

I think Peter Capaldi is infinitely more fanciable than Matt.

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 01/11/2015 13:12

I love Peter Capaldi. I love Doctor Who.

But I just can't seem to like the two together Sad

Really lost interest this series, despite being a fan of the woman who was in Green Wing.

GoEasyPudding · 01/11/2015 15:30

I fancy every Dr. However, Capaldi would look better with shorter hair, darkened a little bit, and then he needs to wear a shirt with a collar.

All the old episodes are on netflix so you could go back in time and enjoy the previous doctors all day long!

SurferJet · 01/11/2015 15:33

Agree. Matt Smith was very sexy.

isseywithcats · 01/11/2015 15:41

i agree David Tennant was phwoar, got to like matt smith in the end, but cant seem to take to peter capaldi at all and ive been watching and a fan of dr who since william hartnell days

LucilleBluth · 01/11/2015 15:47

DS1 was little when it came back with Christopher Eccleston, he absolutely loved it, for years and years he was a huge fan. He won't watch it now, he can't get used to PC.

Even when I used to be a bit sozzled on a Saturday evening and I'd literally lost the plot, I could still gaze at Matt's tight trousers.

I agree about loving Capaldi and DW but not together.

I'm OK with pc. Yesterday's episode was better than they've been so far - I have been very close to giving up on dw recently the stories/writing have been so bad. Have they got a new writer in? Glad Clara's still around.

Everyone still mutters unintelligibly though, it's very annoying. Even dd has the sound up, but the background noise still drowns out a lot of the speech. I reckon they're using sound engineers from Jules Holland - incredibly bad mxing on both.

I didn't much like DT. MS was the best out of this new lot, I miss him.

I also wish they'd put it back on at 6ish. It's meant to be a kids' show, and I'm sick of trying to cook/serve supper quietly Grin

Crazypetlady · 01/11/2015 16:44

I can't get used to capaldi, he just doesn't quite fit for me.

DurhamDurham · 01/11/2015 16:47

I don't mind Peter Capaldi, he's not the best Dr we but miles better ( in all areas) that Matt, he was just so manic......all the time!! I was exhausted watching Dr Who when he was in it, he never stopped for breath.

I miss David, he was fab and I also miss Christopher Eccleston,he was a good Dr and I fancied him a bit too.

vaticancameos · 01/11/2015 16:56

I do like Peter Capaldi but I do miss Russell T Davis.

specialsubject · 01/11/2015 17:01

proving that someone on the internet will have the answer to everything, here is:

reprog.wordpress.com/2010/04/05/ages-of-doctor-who-actors-on-their-debuts/

Capaldi was 55 when he took over. News; many men have grey hair at that age.

and yes, speak up everyone. Couldn't work out the name of the Clara clone due to Coleman's mumbling, and Capaldi is also doing it a bit. This hasn't happened before.

Junosmum · 01/11/2015 17:01

Couldn't stand DT. Like him as an actor and enjoyed his DW storylines but didn't like him as the doctor, also don't find him attractive. And the ce capaldi. What a load of tripe. Looks awful, not sexy, serious overacting, very shouty and bad storylines. I miss Smith. But I miss Christopher eccleston more!

LucilleBluth · 01/11/2015 17:12

I've met Christopher Eccleston years ago. He was very shy with floppy hair, I loved northern Doctor Who in a leather jacket. I think the world has moved on from a time when DW was an authoritative old man, and it had moved on until Capaldi......that episode from the other week when he was wheeled in playing an electric guitar was a shark jump moment if ever there was one!

It's Jenna Coleman who ruins it for me. Nothing against her personally, but I just can take to Clara at all. Amy Pond was annoying but Clara is awful. The episodes where PC had Maisie Williams as a companion were so much better. I know she's tied to GOT at the moment, but I'd love to see her as a future full time companion.

Rose and Donna were the best Nu Who companions obviously. I hope we get a character like them soon as Clara is rumoured to be leaving soon (thank the Lord).

kelda · 01/11/2015 17:31

The Mistress and Maisie have made this series entertaining in my opinion.

BoomBoomsCousin · 01/11/2015 17:37

I'm not a Peter Capaldi fan either, yet. But I didn't like Matt Smith at first until I'd watched him a while.

I don't think the writing has been that good this season and I am bored of impossible girl. The mistress is kind of fun though. I still won't miss an episode!

TheHiphopopotamus · 01/11/2015 18:00

Loved Donna. Loathed the character of Rose (although I think Billy Piper is a better actor than she's given credit for).

Clara is just alright.

I'm loving PC as the Doctor though. In fact I've loved em all (including Colin Baker Grin).

I think the problem is the scripts at the moment, although I've enjoyed Capaldis last two series more than Matt Smiths last one.

Oh, and I think the sonic sunglasses idea is a bit crap too.

Jux · 01/11/2015 18:16

The Mistress is beginning to annoy me now, but she's still a lot better than the ghastly Riversong.

I liked Amy and Donna and Clara. Rose just became boring and I was glad to be rid of her. Wouldn't mind seeing Mickey again though.

The scripts/stories have been pretty shit since pc came on board. Last night's looked up a bit though.

specialsubject · 01/11/2015 18:17

things got better for a while when Clara arrived; Amy had been there too long. Same thing happening now, Clara is just Mary Sue (the fan fiction author substitute with the super powers) and it is time she went.

but please not wooden school play girl from last week as a replacement!!

TheHiphopopotamus · 01/11/2015 19:44

Oh gawd, I cannot stand River Song. She's a proper Mary Sue, just bloody awful. I think she might be coming back too. She may be the catalyst that finally makes me switch off.

Jux · 01/11/2015 21:04

Oh no! Really? I may switch off too then.

I actually remember the first episode, I've been watching for over 50 years, and I'm going to be beaten by a seriously bad actress. Sad

Ginkypig · 01/11/2015 21:56

I don't mind PCs. I don't really fancy him but I don mind him either.

I can't stand Clara, I don't really know why I just can't.

Salivating for the day she leaves!

Iv not really liked the storylines this series so far. Although I love Michelle Gomez and her character so it's been saved due to her.

Jux · 02/11/2015 16:56

Did you know that Peter Capaldi wrote and directed a film anout Kafka, which won an Oscar?

He may not be eye candy, but some things make up for that Grin

Oh, here: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franz_Kafka%27s_It%27s_a_Wonderful_Life

BoomBoomsCousin · 02/11/2015 17:20

Not really seeing how that's relevant to whether he's a good Doctor Who?
