Do you watch family vlogs?

Hello all,

I'm a first time mum-to-be and just started watching and following family vlogs as I find it very inspiring and entertaining.

My favourites in the UK are the Saccone Jolys (https://www.youtube.com/user/LeFloofTV) and the Gouveias (www.youtube.com/theGOUVEIASchannel).

Do you watch family vlogs?

Thank you.

I've stopped watching the Saccone Jolys after being horrified at their inability to do up a car seat! They're so loose that they're not doing any good at all, I just pray they don't have an accident, poor kids :(

Your OP is weirdly worded by the way. You sound like a researcher.

Yep!

oliviashhh · 29/09/2015 10:21

Hi, I'm just new here and trying to figure out how it works. Even had to check on google what was an OP lol. Thanks for replying.

No I don't, I think they're just weird Confused

PaulAnkaTheDog · 29/09/2015 10:24

Is that your vlog or something? Your wording is so weird.

Anyway, I find things like that insufferable and pretentious. I honestly feel like shouting at people who do things like that 'NO ONE CARES!'

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 29/09/2015 10:25

No fucking chance.
I'd rather watch diarrhoea set in the toilet bowl.

WorraLiberty · 29/09/2015 10:26

You had to check what OP means, but not what 'AIBU' means?

AnotherGirlsParadise · 29/09/2015 10:28

sharon Grin

It's a resounding nope from me too. Vlogs are just so bloody self absorbed. I have a 4yo and a 1yo - I hear my own voice far too much for my liking as it is.

NotTodaySatan · 29/09/2015 10:30

No.

I'd rather shit in my hands and clap than watch those Saccone Joly cunts.

OrangeSquashTallGlass · 29/09/2015 10:30

My thoughts exactly worra.

WorraLiberty · 29/09/2015 10:32

Anyway to answer your question OP

I could have a bottle of laxative in one hand and a can of polish in the other, and I still wouldn't give a shiny shit about vlogs or blogs.

HTH

oliviashhh · 29/09/2015 10:34

Yes, I did check what AIBU means and as I've seen other post about vlogs here I though that was just right. I have no idea what do you mean by weird wording and no I don't have a vlog, I'm just asking for opinions.

In that case do you follow any other vlogs? What about blogs?

Thanks.

FarFromAnyRoad · 29/09/2015 10:37

Oh OP you SO are a researcher - or a plugger! Come on - you know it, I know it, even my Grandmother's goldfish knows it!

Anyway - two points -

  1. Vlog my arse
  2. Grin and double Grin @ sharon and the setting diarrhoea

Oh wait! One more thing!

PaulAnkaTheDog · 29/09/2015 10:38

Seriously, are you some piss poor reporter or something? That's why people are questioning the wording. You are asking questions like someone researching very badly for an article or something. I honestly cannot ever remember anyone mentioning vlogs or blogs on aibu.

SaucyJack · 29/09/2015 10:40

No I don't follow any vlogs.

I don't even like my own children enough to watch them all day- let alone anybody else's.

If you're that bored go and read The Day Of The Jackal. Trust me.

WorraLiberty · 29/09/2015 10:41

I did check what AIBU means

Well done.

So what do you think you might be unreasonable about?

oliviashhh · 29/09/2015 10:44

I'm really sorry if I put it on the wrong topic and I'm not a researcher, I'm just someone who was trying to ask for honest opinions and just regrets ever writing here anyway. I'm new at Mumsnet but clearly not coming back. Thank you anyway.

This has made me laugh more than any episode of Last of the summer wine ever could

Stillunexpected · 29/09/2015 10:52

Olivia sorry if you are not a journalist or researcher but your post does come across as - interesting - for a first post. MN seems to be increasingly used as cheap research by lazy journos and lots of people are getting a bit tired of seeing discussions here rehashed on various media sites and TV programmes.

Most people who join the site do so because they need advice and for a first-time mother the most usual things would be to join the antenatal boards, be asking questions about hospitals, labour, sterilisers etc or commenting on things that you are interested in or have professional experience of - cats, films, employment issues, mortgages etc etc. It's just a bit unusual to throw out a question about a subject like blogs, particularly when the Saccone Jolys have just been in the news recently about the extent to which they film their children.

oliviashhh · 29/09/2015 11:01

Stillunexpected
Thank you for your words and explanation. I understand what you say but I had to start somewhere and as I just discovered family vlogs (I had never had any interest on them) I though I could ask here, nothing else. I didn't know about the Saccones being in the news but that's a very good point.
Thanks.

The OP is utterly bizarre! Researcher/journo/paid plugger/child off school sick - who knows, but its very very odd Confused

oliviashhh · 29/09/2015 12:52

TamaraLamara
I'm just a normal person but thanks for your kind words. Very welcoming!

On fiverr and similar sites you can hire people to perform tasks for you for very little outlay. As the payment involved is small it is often people from countries outside the EU where the cost of living is lower who respond; hence, English is not their first language. The types of tasks they perform might include opening up forum discussions in order to increase awareness of a particular product/show. Including links would hopefully increase traffic to that site too.

I'm just mentioning this in passing, by the way. There's absolutely nothing going on here to suggest anything other than an interest in the family vlog watching habits of MN as a whole. Smile
