AIBU to think that if you bring your lunch into the office and put it in the fridge you should make damn sure that before you go on holiday you either

a) Eat it
b) Throw it away.

I have just opened the fridge and discovered a colleagues salad. She has been away for the past 10 days. It is not pretty. Just about to upload a pic.

put it in her locker.

DragonsCanHop · 19/09/2015 14:01

Cover it in cling film and put it on her desk.

We haven't got lockers. Is a desk drawer going too far? Grin

Where I'm from scutter is slang for diarrhea. I'm quite relieved it's someone's mouldy lunch actually.

SurlyCue · 19/09/2015 14:03

grim! (is a scutter like a skitter?)

AuditAngel · 19/09/2015 14:04

I once forgot I had fruit in my drawer. I called and asked someone to dispose of it (after a weekend) as it would be bad before I returned to work.

gymboywalton · 19/09/2015 14:05

just bung it in the bin ffs

ilovesooty · 19/09/2015 14:06

Just chuck it out. Anyone can forget something like this.

CatThiefKeith · 19/09/2015 14:08

Have chucked it. Feel a bit guilty about binning the container, but not guilty enough to wash it up.

Psycobabble · 19/09/2015 14:08

I'd personally see she was sacked !

Oh no wait , I'd chuck it int the bin and assume if she is anything like me she prob had 8 billion things going on in her head before the hol and simply forgot !

CatThiefKeith · 19/09/2015 14:10

But how do you forget to eat your lunch? Genuine question - it's not like we work in a massively demanding job.

I usually start looking forward to lunch just after my 11am snack break. Grin

We have to put a day of the week sticker on any food that goes in our fridges, and anything over two days old is disposed of.

They are sticklers as well, it's so annoying remembering you've a chocolate mousse still to eat and then finding the bugger's been binned.

LunchpackOfNotreDame · 19/09/2015 14:11

I regularly forget to eat. I just get engrossed in what I'm doing and before I know it it's time to go home

NoelHeadbands · 19/09/2015 14:13

I've brought my own lunch in then completely forgotten about it, and bought from the canteen before now

MistressChalk · 19/09/2015 14:14

Are you her? Do you know exactly how she operates? No. So you have no idea why she forgot to eat her lunch but she did.

I hate this shit. I have a right busybody in our office who makes a huge deal about going through the fridge and announcing who had forgotten to eat their lunch etc. and that it will get mouldy and disgusting. It's humiliating for the poor sod she picks on.

She forgot. It's perhaps disgusting but not a crime. Don't embarrass her by bringing it to the attention of her colleagues and the Internet.

ilovesooty · 19/09/2015 14:14

I don't get a snack break (I don't think I've experienced one of those since primary school) and would find it quite easy to forget to have lunch if I'm busy.

CatThiefKeith · 19/09/2015 14:14

Lunchpack you must have a much more interesting job than I.

I rarely open the fridge, I only did so today because I made a client a coffee. (I drink mine black)

I can't believe nobody else thought to chuck it out though, they all take milk!

SurlyCue · 19/09/2015 14:15

Shock I never forget to eat! she probably had a gravy chip instead Grin

SaucyJack · 19/09/2015 14:15

I reckon she took one look at it and went and bought a bag of chips instead.
