aibu to wonder what he is doing?

A taxi (private) has parked on street behind my flat every night for the last 2 weeks, driver stays in car. He doesn't move at all during the time he's parked there so presumably not waiting on a fair the taxi company is biggest in my area so no shortage of business . He is there again now yesterday he was there from just before 5 till atleast 11pm, most nights it's from 6/7pm till after 11pm.

I'm not going to deny I'm a tiny bit nosy I don't understand why he chooses there it is a one way street outside a multipurpose building, (yoga, energy deals etc) at the end of the street there are flats. There are plenty of lovely places nearby he could spend 5 hours.

Just to add I don't spend all day watching him but he parks directly across from my flat and I spend alot of time in kitchen / kids room and he's right outside.

so any guesses? My nossynes has got the best of me, I'm imagining scenarios none of them seem likely though.

If you can, call the taxi company and ask what the hell he's doing!

Maybe he thinks he will get fares if he stays there as its a busy building or maybe he just pretends to be working?

I reckon his OH has chucked him out and he's sleeping in the taxi.

Owns the taxi, been sacked, scared to tell DW, left badges on taxi as if still working, goes out at normal shift time suspicious

Let's speculate!

He might have promised he'll pick up his abused DC just as soon as s/he is ready to leave an abusive partner and is parked there every night because last week it looked like they were close to calling it a day.

Maybe he's a spy/police working under cover at the taxi firm to look less suspicious.

Maybe he is a stalker and this is his leisure time not his work time.

Maybe him and his wife used to sit in his car outside her parents house when they were courting and since she died the other week he's found himself their reminiscing.

My first thought was he had been sacked husband reckons not because taxi is one with companies branding and number all over it. it's weird.
He may be sleeping there, I usually go to bed around 11pm and he had been there every night when I've checked. There is massive country park near by (5 min drive) that's obviously a lot nicer and quiter.

Those are the hours he normally works but he's discovered his OH is having an affair and going out every night he works. Now he's following them and collecting evidence.

I can't help but suspect some kind of perverted motive.

But that's only because I live down a one way street and most nights between midnight and 3am there's a taxi parked at the end with the driver in it, not moving for three hours opposite my block of flats. DH reckoned he was just on a split shift and kipping in his cab, but one night coming back from the pub we walked past and he was - quite openly - enjoying some "private time". We called the police. They came and had a quiet word, and we haven't seen him since. Either he got fired or has found another street to wank in.

It must be terribly boring sitting there for 6+ hours? I'd be ringing cab company. If it was a personal car, people would be calling the police to report a suspicious vehicle.

That's what I don't understand Eatdessertfirst it's a really long time to sit in a car, he seems to spend most the time on his phone (texting or Internet) not calls.
There is a pub at the very of the street, he could sit in there, with a coke if it was just to kill time.

This thread sounds like the one where the bloke parked his car next to a house in the back and beyond, he stayed all day too and didn't leave his car either.

In that one the OP was going to get the local vicar in to have a word.

She didn't update afaik.

Redglitter I'm surprised at that, I wouldn't he is doing no harm I am just nosy so and so, I feel bad for him it must get so tedious, I seen him eating earlier but haven't seen him leave the car at all, I'm wondering what he does when he needs the loo.

Fortycoats good suggestion he is facing opposite way but that might be a ploy, Husband thinks he is stalking someone that lives in the flats but surely they would notice by now.

DP says there might be a BT Openzone or someone in the flats has an unsecured wifi so he might be watching or downloading loads of porn films and TV shows.

Icrackedup I think that could be it the pub has wifi and he would probably get signal from where he is parked. can't believe I never thought of it, it seems a bit extream sitting there for so long but each to there own.

Wouldn't the taxi firm be allocating work for him though? Maybe he's on downtime and is allowed the uses of company vehicle?

Maybe he's just moved house and no internet yet and he's too cheap to buy a half in the pub.

Maybe his inlaws are visiting so he's pretending to work overtime until they're in bed.
