to think peppa pig is pure evil

Peppa pig depicts a wholly sexist and class based society. Wild male carnivores form the upper class (dr bear), domestic animals form the middle class (daddy pig, ms sheep etc) and wild herbivores form the working class. This injustice is best illustrated with ms rabbit who is forced to work multiple low paid jobs, lives in sub quality housing and can only afford raw carrots to eat.

will someone please think of the children?

i also have it in for Octonauts and Doc McStuffins.

Octonauts
Captain Barnacles is a rough less autocrat who press gangs members of his crew. He then contrives to create stressful, high risk situations in order to distract he's victims from realising that they're being manipulated.

Doc McStuffins
A small girl suffering with munchausen by proxy. (For those who do know Munchausen syndrome by proxy is medical heath condition where a caregiver fabricates, exaggerates, or induces mental or physical health problems in those who are in their care.)

I just think it's evil because my DD wants to watch it every.minute.of.every.day.

I don't pay much attention to it to get worked up about anything else!

WelcomeToTheBungle · 10/07/2015 18:36

Nah Mr Bull and Mr Fox are working class through and through. Interesting idea though.

Peppa's a cunt for a whole other set of reasons, primarily every time she tells George he won't be any good at something and is invariably priced wrong.

It is sexist though.

AdeleDazeem · 10/07/2015 18:57

I hope DD has outgrown PP by the time she's talking. Her daddy would not take it as well as Daddy Pig to be told he has a 'big tummy'.

Heels99 · 10/07/2015 19:00

Or you could get out more

CigarsofthePharoahs · 10/07/2015 19:08

Peppa pig is evil. I also hate Mr Tumble.

MagicalMrsMistoffelees · 10/07/2015 19:20

I've never watched it but have a loathing for PP that I can't explain. And normally I'm quite fond of pigs.

ChampagneBabyCakes · 10/07/2015 19:50

Peppa is an arrogant brat. She drives me mad, but my kids love it.

Mr Tumble also bothers me - how is it he has so many shows? Do other people love him?

Ironfloor · 10/07/2015 20:00

I think PP is sexist and plays to stereotypes I.e. How daddy pig is lazy and mummy pig chatters with other females.

Kitsandkids · 10/07/2015 20:02

I think you have thought about this waaayyyy too much! Grin

Shopgirl1 · 10/07/2015 20:05

What age do they generally grow out of Peppa? I have 19 month old twins, they are obsessed with her, I hate her.

notquitehuman · 10/07/2015 20:13

Mummy Pig is emotionally abusive to Daddy Pig. She belittles him in front of the children which is just messed up. I also feel sorry for him having to deal with those passive aggressive in-laws. They obviously thought their daughter married down.

He works so hard to keep the family in holidays to Italian villas while Mummy Pig sits on her arse playing Happy Mrs Chicken.

ladyflower23 · 10/07/2015 20:20

I love peppa pig! flippin Justin though. I think he is a narcissist who secretly hates children. Mr Bloom on the other hand though. He's HOT. would love to get my hands on his vegetables Grin

MeowImaCatfish · 11/07/2015 18:06

Ooh flower I'd have me a bitta bloom any day Grin he'll be on hollyoaks soon apparently too [drool emoticon]

drudgetrudy · 11/07/2015 18:12

Peppa is an obnoxious, know-all little pig and isn't very nice to George.
Daddy pig is treated with no respect at all.

saturnvista · 11/07/2015 18:16

My DD told me her tummy was too big after watching peppa pig :( I have never even let her hear the word 'fat'. It's been banned and I don't know how it's allowed given the body image related illnesses affecting more and more young people. We're told to be vigilant and careful and then peppa pig blows it all to hell.

DextersMistress · 11/07/2015 18:18

Yabvu. Peppa is a saint in our house as it's the only thing that 2.5 year old Tasmanian devil ds will be quiet for.

Oh, and miss rabbit is just a money grabber.

AndyWarholsOrange · 11/07/2015 19:51

I just don't get all this stuff about Peppa being a brat- from what I can see, she has very good manners, I don't remember her ever having a tantrum and she's mostly quite nice to George. How is she an 'obnoxious brat?'
I never thought I would get into a discussion deconstructing a fecking cartoon Sad

Jo4040 · 11/07/2015 20:26

Lmao. When these programmes are on in the background ilm be laughing my head off now. 'Nanny Plum' gets me in Ben n Hokkys Little Kingdom. She's sooo dry and matter of fact. We could all do with a nanny pkum telling us how it is.

Jo4040 · 11/07/2015 20:27

Excuse the bad typing. I do type to quickly

catzpyjamas · 11/07/2015 20:31

Nanny Plum is my hero Grin

KissesBreakingWave · 11/07/2015 20:34

Peeeeeeeeeeep pa Pig. FUCKING. THREE. NOTE. TUNE. Not quite as bad as Glaaaaaaaad stone Brooks. But close. Never paid attention to the programme - mine are the wrong ages, but I hear it when The Nephew is watching it. And I want to smash bottles across the head of whoever wrote the theme tune. Earworm of the WORST kind.

no73 · 11/07/2015 20:34

I think its evil as I had to go see it at the theatre at 10am with a stinking red wine hangover......it fucking hurt me a lot!!!

Thank god DS is too old for it now.

TheEagle · 11/07/2015 20:37

I love Nanny Plum, she gets a lot done in a day as well.

There's some drug or something pumped in to Peppa Pig, 21 month old DS1 would watch it all sodding day long.

Peppa is quite smug I think.

NannyPlumForPM · 11/07/2015 20:38

I have reverted to an old user name (am now Theimprobablegirl) in honour of Ms plum. She is the most sarcastic eye-rolly pretentious woman/character ever Grin
