I sometimes wonder about this and wonder if I am missing something. is it because it is easier on a phone for instance to just post in chat or AIBU.

OP posts:
TealFanClub · 01/07/2015 22:55

because they are idiot wankers

BreconBeBuggered · 01/07/2015 22:55

that wasn't the answer I was after.
I really do wonder. surely if you are posting about facebook, you post in the facebook topic.
so if not why not

I can't tell if this thread is intentionally funny or not! You do know you've posted in the wrong topic... right? Grin

cleanmyhouse · 01/07/2015 22:58

Shouldn't this be in chat?

Samcro · 01/07/2015 22:59

is this not the AIBU for posting after whisky topic???

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 01/07/2015 22:59

What Brecon said Grin

It's probably because MN has a ridiculously large amount of topics, which dilutes the whole site, thus turning much of it into a ghost town.

People post in AIBU or Chat because they'd like a reply to their thread, this side of Christmas.

Samcro · 01/07/2015 23:03

travertine · 01/07/2015 23:03

Where's the facebook topic, I like the sound of that but got fed up looking for it.

TattyDevine · 01/07/2015 23:03

People want the audience of the board they are most familiar or comfortable with.

So maybe you want to hear what AIBU folks say about...mascara, for instance, not the Style and Beauty crew.

Or something.

ThoseAwfulCurtains · 01/07/2015 23:04

Because we are MNetters.
We will not be fettered or corralled into pigeonholes (scuse the mixed whatsits)
We will not be bossed and bullied. We want to be freeeeeeee!!!

travertine · 01/07/2015 23:04

Ooh I found it.

Froggio · 01/07/2015 23:05

I've posted in other topics and rarely get a reply. Most post in AIBU because it gets the most traffic. I tend to only read AIBU now. It annoys me when posters tell the OP to ask for the post to be moved as if it really matters. And who are they to police the site anyway! (unless the post would genuinely be better off somewhere else where people could help eg. mental health).

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 01/07/2015 23:05

Don't worry.

What's really useful is the Discussion Wardens who lurk on the boards just hoping to spot such a transgression and point it out.

People posting in the correct topic would do the Discussion Wardens out of a hobby Grin.

ThoseAwfulCurtains · 01/07/2015 23:05

Also we cba tbh

Blu · 01/07/2015 23:06

People post in AIBU 'for the traffic', dontchakno?

Because it is better to be run down by a load of idiots who don't know what they are doing, anyone, anybody, in AIBU, than to wait at the kerbside, patiently, for the RIGHT person, with expertise, in law, finance, plumbing, vernacular Cantonese etc in the specialist section, to come along.

Samcro · 01/07/2015 23:07

"Because we are MNetters.

Is that sung to the St trinians tune

MN house rules go something like this

  • if you don't like a topic, report it, don't create a TAAT
  • if it bugs you, don't click on it, move on
  • if it hacks you off that much, maybe take up a new hobby to use up the spare energy? Or create a moany thread on Site Stuff
  • some people post stuff under the guise of AIBU like "AIBU to eat this bucket of KFC for 6 and undoing my workout in the process?" OK it isn't an ethical dilemma or a life shattering revelation for us to judge, but it gives us a laugh.
Whatdidyousay · 01/07/2015 23:10

Well I've posted in divorce/separation and not getting many replies. Maybe I should repost here!

Samcro · 01/07/2015 23:10

now I was not hacked off.
just wondering...
