Horrid day at work. Sad. Difficult. Long.

Won't be sleeping any time soon as brain isn't going to switch off.

Box of red wine.

Not sure. Could go either way.

Have a glass or two but no more. Embrace the sadness but don't drown in it.

So sorry op. Sounds tough.

Have one or two and stop. You'll regret it in the morning of you have too many.

Spermysextowel · 10/06/2015 22:38

Yes, because you still have to deal with tomorrow & it's no easier when you're feeling rough.

frumpet · 10/06/2015 22:39

Have two big glasses and find the crappiest telly you can , have a look at Dave , the TV channel , I don't expect you to start trawling the street for random men of that name, especially not after two big glasses , otherwise tomorrow could be a worse day Grin

Can you have a good old rant/vent on here ?

ImperialBlether · 10/06/2015 22:40

Two nice big glasses, then put it away. You'll be glad in the morning.

LongDistanceLove · 10/06/2015 22:40

Yeah but if you get shitfaced now, it'll be worse in the morning especially if you get hangover anxiety.

If you can't sleep for whatever reason, get up and do something, anything, it beats lying in bed thinking and stewing.

frumpet · 10/06/2015 22:42

If you have more than suggested you will end up with puffy eyelids and a furry tongue and wine bowel syndrome , never a good way to start a better day .

HookedOnHooking · 10/06/2015 22:43

I'm looking for Dave.

'Dave! Where are yoooooou?'

2 glasses then bed. Good idea. Will stop. And cry a bit.

YABU

Alcohol doesn't solve problems.

Alcohol won't make you feel better.

Alcohol is a (very) temporary mask.

TrollTheRespawnJeremy · 10/06/2015 22:46

Looking for Dave has to be a new MN euphemism Wink

HesterShaw · 10/06/2015 22:47

What happened OP?

Don't get shitfaced. It's never worth it :(. Are you able to stop after one or two? If not, then don't open the box.

HookedOnHooking · 10/06/2015 22:50

Just a shitty day. I win't descend into oblivion. Much as I want to.
Might change name to LookingForDave

LookingForDave · 10/06/2015 22:52

Taaaaaah Daaaaaaaaaaah!

frumpet · 10/06/2015 22:52

There see , how much better do you feel now you have a mission to find Dave ?

When I said big glasses , I was talking about proper wine glasses not the trifle bowl , so put that back where it belongs ( and wonder why you ever bought the bloody thing ) and stick to the nice wine glass .

Now't wrong with a good cry either , just shows what a lovely person you are Smile

LookingForDave · 10/06/2015 22:53
Flowers

Going to try and sleep.

Box of wine mostly full.

frumpet · 10/06/2015 22:56

Sleep tight Dave Grin

frumpet · 10/06/2015 22:57

What the heck does that even mean ?????????

sallysparrow157 · 10/06/2015 22:57

I've found that drinking slightly more wine than is advisable but not enough to make me feel absolutely shocking in the morning, having a little cry then putting some bouncy music on and jumping around the kitchen like a prick helps after a horrible day at work - gets your emotions out and leaves you feeling that much as there's a hell of a lot of shit in the world, there is also music and good stuff and it all balances out in the end x

Soduthen116 · 10/06/2015 22:59

Well done op.

I like the new mantra of mumsnet to deal with problems.

2 glasses of wine and a Dave!

LookingForDave · 10/06/2015 23:00

I'm liking the new mantra.

frumpet · 10/06/2015 23:01

Wish I could do that sallysparrow , but the neighbours would think the planning permission for the fracking had finally come through and they were experiencing an earthquake Grin
