Every bloody thread I see on here is just the same over and over: phwooooar, nomnomnom, he can plunder me anytime, those fucking breeches, OMG SWOOOON... Apparently it's fine to treat men like objects but the other way around the whole social media jumps down your throat. I remember an article on a very popular news site about how vile it is to objectify women while in the related link on the very same site you had Poldark running around half naked in a gif and an article reviewing the ''orgasmic moments'' of the show. You couldn't make it up.

Oh yes, and speaking of poldarkian comments, how could I forget my personal fav : ''Wait, there's a plot?''

The series finished a while ago, you are way behind. MN is fast paced, you must have been specifically looking for these comments. I wonder why you are seeking out poldark so long after.

But YANBU. It always makes me laugh on MN particularly, when some members are objectifying famous men on one thread, and then complaining about women being objectified on another.

I feel the same when certain posters complain about the media concentrating too much on women's appearance, but they can be found ripping female celebrities to bits, due to their choice of make-up and clothing.

There was a magician on britains got talent last year and frankly it was embarrassing to watch Amanda and Alicia.

I gave up on Poldark in the end; however beautiful Aidan Turner may be, it was so stupidly fast-paced it was impossible to watch. I preferred the hilariously bad Indian Summers.

If you could be clearer as to what you are comparing him to - ie the article on a 'very popular news site' I might have a better understanding of your point. There is a difference between phwoaring over a character in a tv show and a real life person.

The objectification of men doesn't lead to the whole sex being treated differently when they reach a certain age. Men are not sexually assaulted on a regular basis, if they were they would not be told it was there fault.

It's the same as when black people are racist to white people, of course there are isolated incidents but when you look at the big picture it doesn't come close to the racism black people have to put up with.
