AIBU to hate the beard?

Very much the tip of the iceberg of stuff pissing me off about DH this week, but AIBU?

DH has never shaved if he hasn't had to. This progressed to shaving once every week - 10 days a year or so back. That was fine as the shorter stubble suited him.

For some reason he decided a few weeks back to grow a proper beard. As in a big bushy birds nest of a thing that covers the majority of his face and then keeps going. He is very dark haired and is starting to thin on top and it just doesn't suit him.

I HATE it. I don't want to go near it. I don't want to touch it. I don't want him touching me with it.

He's obviously serious about it. The man that won't moisturise his face has bought oils and waxes and special combs for his beard.

Tonight, rather than helping me get stuff ready for the day out that he's insisted on going on tomorrow, he's sat watching youtube videos for hours whilst twiddling and stroking his beard.

I get that it's his face, and that he hates shaving, but who is right here?

I find the feel of slightly moist beard hairs touching me absolutely repulsive, so kissing is out and DH is in the main clean shaven.

YANBU to like it but HINBU to like it!

IMO it's not really comparable to leg or armpit hair as only those into very niche sexual practices will be hugely affected by it. Pubic hair yes if you like lots of oral!

GRT you are being shockingly sexist, there are women with beards too.

My dh is sporting a beard too now, I sympathise. Nothing you can do of course, seems a midlife thing to do now. Nothing you can do, but getting stuff ready for HIS day out- that is preventable and YABU for doing it. Watch some YouTube stuff or have a soak instead.

I suspect GRT's post is a reverse of the standard "feminist" response.

For anyone who hasn't read the whole thread, I mean the loss, not the beard! (although actually I'm sorry for that too, if it helps).

DP has spent six months growing a beard.
There was a period of time where it looked rubbish, but now its full, well cared for and I'm used to snuggling up to it and I quite like it.
