AIBU to ask if this handbag is black or brown?

I cannot for the life of me tell the difference!?!

The colour is listed as 'moonlight' which insinuates that it's black, but in some of the photo's there is a definite brown tinge to it.

I loathe the colour brown.

First world problem, I know. But pleeeaase help me with this one.

Having examined it closely i would say it looks brown but it is very hard to tell.

Lovely bag but I would think brown. I'm not that fond of lighter shades of brown but love that brown/black colour

Phone them and ask.

I sometimes take photos to sell stuff online for a charity. Some shades are hard to photograph correctly. Blues & greens and creams & browns can be particularly troublesome.

Looks dark brown to me, but moonlight sounds like a dark blue

I don't live anywhere near a John Lewis unfortunately so just can't pop in and see it.

And I don't want to just order it and find out as I ordered the navy one a week ago (which I love - but then realised that I wear quite a lot of black clothing), so I don't want to return the lovely blue and then receive a yucky brown one.

I did think about contacting them, but is a random member of their customer service team really going to be able to give me an answer?

So I thought of you guys :)

Consensus does seem to be brown, so far. Hmm. Think I might have to stick with the blue.

I would have said brown, however looking at one of her other 'black' bags that too looks brown so who knows!

Stick to the Navy, much classier anyway!
