To consider divorce because my DH voted Tory?

I always wondered if he was in the closet. In the past couple of elections he's voted Lib Dem but this time he marked the X in the Tory box. How can I look at him the same way? I thought he was a decent human being.

I'm not sure I want to share the same roof, never mind the same bed as him anymore. The kids might be a bit upset but they'd get over it - right?

And leave them half the time with his unrestrained Tory brainwashing? Wink YABU.

WhatAboutThePlant · 08/05/2015 14:04

Not only do I think yabu, I also think you are being ridiculous. I don't like the election outcome but I hope u are being 'light-hearted' otherwise you genuinely sound ridiculous.

ThatBloodyWoman · 08/05/2015 14:04

LTB.

(Lefty the Bastard)

SlumdogMummy · 08/05/2015 14:04

Angry same here, when dh refused to tell me who he was voting for I knew the truth Sad I wonder if they'll be an election day divorce boom, a bit like a world cup baby boom but backwards??!!??

AuntyMag10 · 08/05/2015 14:05

Yabu, and just sound like sour grapes.

VanitasVanitatum · 08/05/2015 14:05

That's really interesting actually, so many lib dems swung to Tory - what made him do it?

Oh and of course YABU but assuming lighthearted!! (Sort of..)

helenahandbag · 08/05/2015 14:05

Pack up the kids and leave in the night. He'll know what he's done to deserve it.

ThatBloodyWoman · 08/05/2015 14:05

What..

Chill.

Hmm
partialderivative · 08/05/2015 14:08

Please say this is light hearted

Bodyinpyjamas10 · 08/05/2015 14:08

Yes yes leave him. Do him a favour!

Ffs hope this is a joke or seriously mumsnet is filling up with bunny boilers today!

helenahandbag · 08/05/2015 14:09

Of course it's bloody lighthearted, MN is totally on edge today Hmm

26Point2Miles · 08/05/2015 14:09

Well if you left him would you then be reliant on benefits?

Flingingmelon · 08/05/2015 14:10

Watch out, he may be on dadsnet wondering what to do about you Wink

swingsofglory · 08/05/2015 14:13

Well I've always suspected tories didn't have a sense of humour... could this be proof?

My Sad husband has definitely been less amusing recently.

AggressiveBunting · 08/05/2015 14:13

It could be worse. He could not have voted at all. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THOSE PEOPLE?????? THEY'RE SCUM. THEY NEED TO BE FINED.

swingsofglory · 08/05/2015 14:14

Good point about benefits 26Point2Miles - I might need to bear that in mind.

OP posts:
gamerchick · 08/05/2015 14:14

I chuckled OP.

Mines a Tory and I'm not and we just try not to talk about it in depth. Although he was very nice to me this morning when I probably looked visibly gutted. Just don't talk about it Grin

kinkytoes · 08/05/2015 14:14

Hilarious OP.

swingsofglory · 08/05/2015 14:15

True AgressiveBunting - or he could have voted UKIP, in which case I'd have definitely had to leave him.

OP posts:
TheUnwillingNarcheska · 08/05/2015 14:15

Did he vote tactically? Some of us had Ed Balls in our constituency. Just saying Wink

SabrinaTheTeenageWitch · 08/05/2015 14:17

In absaloute seriousness I would reconsider my relationship if dp voted tory.

dollius · 08/05/2015 14:18

LOL at those getting their knickers in a twist about whether this is a serious thread or not...

ThatBloodyWoman · 08/05/2015 14:19

I would pack in my job if I were you,and do some voluntary work down the foodbank.
Best to stand by your man if you can't lefty him.
He'll pick up lots of the work floating around to make up for your loss of earnings.

AggressiveBunting · 08/05/2015 14:20

or he could have voted UKIP, in which case I'd have definitely had to leave him.

Nah, I think you have to give the kippers the benefit of the doubt cos it's a sign of disenfranchisement and this is how they express it. Tories are bona fide evil. They all went to Eton donchaknow, even the women.

sanfairyanne · 08/05/2015 14:23

i would for sure!
