I know AIBU to read an article by that man at all but my eye was caught by the headline today, where he says he'd rather let Jimmy Savile babysit his kids than have Ed Miliband as PM. Repeated in the article.

AIBU to think this goes too far even for the Daily Mail?

Sorry. Misquoted slightly: would rather trust Savile to babysit than trust Labour with the NHS. Meh.

Ugh.

Man's an idiot.

Miltonmaid · 05/05/2015 07:29

How pathetic. The press are so desperate for the Tories to win.

Icimoi · 05/05/2015 07:30

Littlejohn is a horrible apology for a journalist, and rather pathetically it looks as if he's trying to go down the Katie Hopkins route. Vile man.

milliemanzi · 05/05/2015 07:31

Don't waste your time and energy even thinking about it, don't give the website traffic, it is garbage.

Treaclepot · 05/05/2015 07:31

What a vile thing to say about his children and for saville's victims. What a ridiculous comparison.

I don't understand why people choose to read the mail.

Pepperpot99 · 05/05/2015 07:35

Dick Littlejohn lives in Florida or somewhere like that doesn't he? so what would he know about UK politics?

Icimoi · 05/05/2015 07:36

Yes, he does, Pepperpot. But he maintains this pathetic pretence that he lives in North London somewhere, and for some reason his acolytes go along with it.

Erudite · 05/05/2015 07:38

He's got a point. For many sane thinkers the idea of Milisturgeon is utterly terrifying.

Icimoi · 05/05/2015 07:47

More terrifying than having Savile have free access to your children? Seriously, Erudite?

Bakeoffcake · 05/05/2015 07:49

Shock that's a dispicable thing to say. Really vile.
Imagine one of JS's victims hearing that!

LumpySpacedPrincess · 05/05/2015 07:52

To be honest the more vile the right wing press get the more people may start to question it.

Erudite · 05/05/2015 07:52

More terrifying than having Savile have free access to your children? Seriously, Erudite?

No, not more, of course not. But the thought of Labour raising taxes, spending money like water and borrowing billions again makes me weep, genuinely.

Erudite · 05/05/2015 07:53

By Friday night, we could find ourselves being governed by a socialist Prime Minister who lost the General Election, propped up by a gang of Stalinist separatists who have secured only four per cent of the total UK vote. When Miliband says he won't do any kind of deal with the Nats, he's lying.
Labour beggared Britain by spending like a drunken sailor with a stolen platinum credit card
If that happens, then thanks to Call Me Dave's ill-conceived Fixed Term Parliaments Act we could be lumbered with a five-year extreme Left-wing marriage of convenience which would lay waste to the economy and crush what remains of our civil liberties.

Icimoi · 05/05/2015 07:55

Erudite, Osborne has increased borrowing more in four years than Labour did in 13. HTH.

SuburbanRhonda · 05/05/2015 07:57

"He's got a point", erudite? Shock

Time to change your username, I think.

Erudite · 05/05/2015 07:58

Oh don't be absurd, Icimol.

They inherited a bankrupt economy - Labour were gifted a booming one which, as per, they destroyed.

Most of the borrowing was simply to sevice Labour's debts.

And even with all that we have a growing economy and low unemployment. Much to Labour's chagrin.

FenellaFellorick · 05/05/2015 07:58

What a vile thing to say.

ThisFenceIsComfy · 05/05/2015 07:58

Erudite, fine you don't want Labour in but save your views for a thread that isn't discussing how some tosspot is saying that a Labour government is worse than allowing a paedophile access to your children.

That's never acceptable.

Erudite · 05/05/2015 08:00

Oh FGS - it was clearly a joke. Yes, a sick one - but honestly!

ThisFenceIsComfy · 05/05/2015 08:01

Do you find it funny then Erudite?

milliemanzi · 05/05/2015 08:02

When people talk about Tories inheriting this terrible economy do they conveniently forget about this little thing called THE GLOBAL FINANCIAL CRISIS?

Erudite · 05/05/2015 08:03

Not particularly, no.

Not half as amusing as the Milibrand interview anyway Grin.

Icimoi · 05/05/2015 08:06

You're in a hole, Erudite, stop digging. You know perfectly well that Labour was not responsible for the recession. The Conservatives, on the other hand, have to take responsibility for the fact that it became a double dip recession.

Or are you a Littlejohn fan keen to divert attention from his crassness?

JoolsSchmools · 05/05/2015 08:06

Low unemployment - you mean zero hour contracts? Yeah they're working out real well if you're a tory and want to skew the figures. For people living on them, not so much.
