I don't care about what your manifesto is. I've come onto Mumsnet to avoid the bloody election. So don't post a bloody advert on my bloody laptop screen.

And by the way, SNP, Tories, LibDems, Greens, UKIP and every other political candidate - same goes for you.

I've only just got rid of pissing penguin bollards and now everywhere I go I'm haunted by a fucking reborn doll.

It's all your fault.

not mine, cos I'm too lazy to re-download adblocker since I had to do a factory default reset, no

Jackie - the next Indy Ref will be in the next generation (as promised by the SNP, who are utterly trustworthy), so not 5-10 years (a generation is 25 years). Of course, there may be some significant change which forces a referendum before then, but as that's all a bit vague I'm going to stick with the 'once in a generation'.

You're right - more elections coming but nothing major (other than Holyrood next year). Of course, if Scotland becomes independent during the next generation and one of the Unionist parties gets back in (as will happen - no party stays in power indefinitely) then we face re-unification elections (only fair, after all...).

Christinayangstwistedsister · 05/05/2015 15:03

I plan to retire abroad before the next referendum

SirChenjin · 05/05/2015 15:06

Me too. Given the time frame we've been promised, we have time to get the kids through Uni, sell the house and get away from here with our pensions intact. My old Dad is already making moves - he's had enough (and he's a Yes voter!)

Taz1212 · 05/05/2015 15:09

We are also planning on retiring outside Scotland. Will there be anyone left here by the time the next referendum rolls round in 25 years? Grin

funnyossity · 05/05/2015 15:11

How is that SirChenjin - if he was a yes voter if you don't mind me asking?

SirChenjin · 05/05/2015 15:14

Don't mind at all funny Smile He's had enough of the divisions and the constant sniping.

amanda1234902 · 27/09/2020 15:47

Okay, you're probably a tory, go kiss Boris Johnson Smile
