To ask you who I should vote for?

I can read their policies, watch their debates until the cows come home but the problem is I don't believe a word any of them say.

I'm cross that the Conservatives haven't done stuff which they said they'd do. However my mum (dye in the wool Tory blames the LibDems for holding them back).

My main concern is the economy. So do I believe Dave who says the last Labour lot fucked the economy up and they're trying to sort out the mess and are doing a steady job of sorting it?

Or do I believe Labour who say it was a global recession and not their fault and that its a global recovery which has been aiding the Tories recently. And also that the Debt hasn't decreased as much as the Tories like people to think?

Then of course there is the fact that the Tories seem to be trying to save money by cutting public spending especially from vulnerable sectors of society which I don't agree with. But the Tories say that sadly this is the only way And if they don't do this we will end up like Greece or something.

I work in the nhs and worry about how much the Tories seem to be privatising bits of it and am concerned this will get worse.

Dd is a teenager and I want her to have a chance of getting a job when she's older so I'm worried about unemployment rates.

caroldecker · 06/04/2015 14:48

If you want a job for dd, then conservative. The Labour Party has always increased unemployment.

EveBoswell · 06/04/2015 15:25

I'll back Caroldecker. The Conservatives have done a good job considering the mess left by Labour.

I don't vote for our dreadful Tory MP though - he's useless.

IamtheDuchessstill · 06/04/2015 15:34

if you are concerned about the NHS, then certainly don't vote Conservative. I can't believe there are still people left who believe that the global economic crisis was caused by Gordon Brown...Hmm

Gottagetmoving · 06/04/2015 15:44

If you care about people, don't vote Tory.

Vivacia · 06/04/2015 15:48

I'll second that sentiment Gottagetmoving

EElisavetaOfBelsornia · 06/04/2015 15:50

And I will third it!

Vivacia · 06/04/2015 15:50

I genuinely don't understand how you can take the tory policies of cutting support for the most vulnerable in society and shoring up the most privileged and think, "yes, that's the kind of society I want to live in".

Stopandlook · 06/04/2015 15:53

Try whoshallIvotefor.com, better than getting biased opinions from us lot.

justonemoretime2p · 06/04/2015 15:53

If the economy is your number 1 priority I would recommend conservative.

MrsItsNoworNotatAll · 06/04/2015 15:57

I will forth it Got

2old2beamum · 06/04/2015 16:02

And I will fifth it. Don't vote Tory or UKIP!!!

caroldecker · 06/04/2015 16:03

Global economic crisis caused by UK and US banking crisis, caused by Gordon Brown and his incompetent tri-partate banking supervision system.
The conservatives do care about the poorest and most vulnerable, just don't agree that giving them endless money and, in the process, bankrupting the country is in the best long-term interest of the poorest and most vulnerable (or anyone else).

Vivacia · 06/04/2015 16:10

People are killing themselves because they can't afford to live or because the support they need has been axed. I'd rather give them "endless money" to be honest.

TheNumberfaker · 06/04/2015 16:12

What gotta said. If you care about anyone other than yourself or a load of rich b@stards, don't vote Tory or UKIP...

Clueing4looks · 06/04/2015 16:15

VivaLeBeaver · 06/04/2015 16:31

I've used the whoshallivotefor website before and didn't get a clear answer.

Just used the Isidewith website and I'm 92% labour. Thanks for that link.

LotusLight · 06/04/2015 16:31

Conservative.
Your first issue is the economy so that is how you vote. Go forth and vote Conservative. It is the best way for the nation.

VivaLeBeaver · 06/04/2015 16:33

It said I sided with labour on heath and economic issues.

I guess the problem is I picked an answer for how I think the economy should be dealt with and obviously that answer ties in ?ith Labour. But I have no idea if that policy will work in reality!

Try VoteMatch, it's a really good quiz which is quick and easy to do. It tells you which party is closest to your views but also gives you scores for each of the main parties.

meandjulio · 06/04/2015 16:43

Oh bloody hell I'm 92% Green according to that. Really wasn't planning to vote that way.

Amylovesgalaxyeggs · 06/04/2015 16:48

Labour if you want your dd to have a job she can afford to live on and not a zero hour contract.

Labour if you want university fees to be brought down and your dd could afford a higher education.

Labour if you want to not work in a private company.

I suggest you take the survey on voteforpolicies.org.uk

Amylovesgalaxyeggs · 06/04/2015 16:54

And no labour had no control on the financial crisis.

Recession is part of any economic cycle it is not unusual to go into a recession every 20-30 years.

caroldecker · 06/04/2015 17:02

Amy utter bollocks - recessionary cycles are usual, lax regulation leading to major banking failures are not - note only banks in UK, US, Spain, Irland and Iceland were bailed out - the rest of the world regulated them properly.

University fees are only paid if you earn enough - surely it is better for high earners to pay for the full cost of thier education, rather than give them £2.7bn a year. Maybe that money would be better given to the poorest and most vulnerable, rather than as a tax cut to future rich people.

Amylovesgalaxyeggs · 06/04/2015 17:12

Carol studies show that investing in education improves the quality of workers in the future leading to more skilled workers and more tax income. How come if the Tories have created so many new jobs tax income is down. That is because of the zero hour contracts and minimum wage jobs that are created.

Their have always been booms and crashes what Labour did wrong was they did unregulate but to blame the whole financial crisis on labour is ridiculous.

The financial crash was caused by the sub prime mortgage crisis in the U.S.

maliaki · 06/04/2015 17:19

I think if you aren't sure and can't make up your mind after looking into the facts yourself, then you shouldn't vote because you'd just be voting for someone elses choice.

I sympathise because I'm in the same boat, don't have a clue who to vote for since they all lie and are in it for themselves. I will go for who will be best for myself locally, but still not happy.
