Ukip would not existCake
Conservatives would be a fringe party
Labour a major party still
Greens a major party
What do you think Britain would be like?

OP posts:
LaurieFairyCake · 19/03/2015 18:24

There's loads of conservative voters on here

And at least a hundred Ukippers

ILovePud · 19/03/2015 18:28

I think you're right the prevailing ethos on MN is definitely left wing.

There's loads of Tories on MN

Babycham1979 · 20/03/2015 11:16

The prevailing MN analysis seems to be that all family/child-focused benefits are A Good Thing, but perversely, that taxes and charges (especially inheritance tax) are A Bad Thing.

If the electorate comprised 100% MNers, the economy would be looking considerably more like Greece's by now.

SpinDoctorOfAethelred · 20/03/2015 11:22

I disagree. I think we'd be governed by a Labour-Green-UKIP coalition, going off MN threads.

Edsgreypatch · 20/03/2015 11:24

We'd be even more bankrupt than Labour left us!

DamnBamboo · 20/03/2015 11:33

I don't think conservatives would be a fring party at all.
Why the hell would anyone votes for greens as a major party?
Seriously.
Their manifesto is utter shite!

AtomicDog · 20/03/2015 11:36

Well, I am fully in support of a benign dictatorship.
It would have to be mrsdevere, pagwatch, or moosemama though.

MrsHathaway · 20/03/2015 11:44

MN is not left wing ::howls with laughter::

I think the turnout would exceed 50% 80%, which would be great.

silveroldie2 · 20/03/2015 12:34

Unbearable - I would emigrate. Is MN left wing? May as well ask if the Pope is catholic.

richthegreatcornholio · 20/03/2015 13:20

What do you think Britain would be like?

A complete nightmare. Hopefully anyone with any sense and money would take their wealth elsewhere and leave the rest of you to your nasty little socialist shithole. I'd be off like a shot.

confusedandemployed · 20/03/2015 13:22

Bloody hell. If MN is left wing I must be the reincarnation of Trotsky.

CunningCat · 20/03/2015 13:24

Grin confused.
I'd be Karl Marx!

Morelikeguidelines · 20/03/2015 13:32

I don't think mn is left wing at all.

Mn is very if you want something pay for it and everyone for themselves. Very little social conscience here or appetite for doing anything for others.

Bowlersarm · 20/03/2015 13:35

I think you must be on a different MN to me Morelikeguidelines, that's not my experience at all.

Bowlersarm · 20/03/2015 13:36

....although at least ttosca'seems to have disappeared with the numerous Tory cunts threads, thankfully.

confusedandemployed · 20/03/2015 13:39

Grin CunningCat after me, one, two, three: "The people's flag is deepest red...."

ILovePud · 20/03/2015 14:10

Morelikeguidelines I kind of get what you mean, I think towards individual posters there can be quite a harsh response however I think attitudes towards general issues such as benefits, taxation, public sector etc. are very much left leaning. I think (I'm sure others will disagree) that MN perspectives on issues around ethnicity, gender and disability are more inclusive than in the population as a whole.

MNpostingbot · 20/03/2015 14:13

I'd emigrate to North korea

ILovePud · 20/03/2015 14:17

I also think there is a gulf between what people say their views are and how they vote in the privacy of the polling booth.

RandomNPC · 20/03/2015 14:33

Hopefully anyone with any sense and money

The two are often mutually exclusive

YvetteChauvire · 20/03/2015 14:45

I would advised my young male black and mixed raced relatives to leave the country.

I would leave the country.

Sallyingforth · 20/03/2015 14:58

Labour plus Greens?

We'd be bankrupt in a year and the lights would go out every time the wind stopped blowing.

RandomNPC · 20/03/2015 16:43

A Labour/Green coalition would be my dream result.
