for being a stepmum

I guess I probably am. Most people who post saying they are a step parent usually get told they are unreasonable so I probably am too...

My (ex) stepmum was an absolute cow, but that was nothing to do with being a step-parent, she just was . DH's stepmum on the other hand is lovely, as is DF's new partner. It very much depends on the person.

Nothing wrong with step mums as a whole. Only the ones with no insight, who expect to come first ALL THE TIME and flounce around getting uptight about tiny little things that don't matter in the grand scheme of things.

But that's NOT a step mum thing. That's a person thing. A pain in the arse person will make a pain in the arse step parent and unfortunately because it's such a sensitive position to be in they have the potential to create a great deal of unhappiness.

My Mum is as I described. She soon saw my half sister off. Made it impossible for her and my Dad to have a relationship. She'd have liked to do the same to me and my other sibling but unfortunately we were her children so she was stuck with us .
