To ask how many people make up OPs?

BubblesInMyBath · 08/03/2015 19:32

Surely quite a few are wind ups?

Anyone going to confess?

OP posts:
ILovePud · 08/03/2015 19:58

There does seem to be quite a few threads going today where people are making veiled allusions to the OP being a troll/on the wind up. I really couldn't be arsed making up a thread.

FuckItBucket · 08/03/2015 19:59

By looks of it every tbread is made up but I'm the type of poster who doesn't believe the what's for dinner threads Grin

OhFlippityBolax · 08/03/2015 19:59

My life is too much like an episode of eastenders to warrant having to make things up on top!

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 08/03/2015 20:00

I also could not be arsed to make up a thread.

I can barely be arsed to finish ty

MrsFrankieHeck · 08/03/2015 20:01

90%, the sad tossers.

Fatstacks · 08/03/2015 20:02

I hope you aren't suggesting the armpit sex thread is anything less than a cry for help from a controlled wife.

I'm completely convinced that she is genuine.

I also think chem trails are poisoning me and that China has a death tardis.

Hmm
OhFlippityBolax · 08/03/2015 20:05

Oh don't start about bloody chemtrails my mum is convinced they're the cause of my shit health...

ThingummyJigg · 08/03/2015 20:08

I have no idea how many are made up (though some are funny until some killjoy posts '2 out 10' or something similarly patronising) but sometimes even the made up ones can be useful to people later searching threads for advice on the same issue.

I think sometimes mn let these ones stand. A lot of mners have put in the effort and time to advise someone or share their own story, and even though some stupid bastard made up the OP, the helpful posts can still be helpful.

morethanpotatoprints · 08/03/2015 20:09

Chem trails are the cause of my shit health too, and everybody elses, imp.
Everyone you see is ill.

I haven't made any threads up, can't be bothered tbh, it seems a bit sad, unless you have mates on here who are also in on it and its a joke not a wind up.

SandysMam · 08/03/2015 20:10

I would be gutted if the post about the friend returning the OP's plate on a big night out then crying because she wanted to leave it in the pub and carried it round all night, was lying. That was my defining Mumsnet post and I often wonder where that plate is now!!

SandysMam · 08/03/2015 20:11

Sorry that was very badly written...time for bed...!!

Mandatorymongoose · 08/03/2015 20:15

A death tardis??

Tardis
rockinrobintweet · 08/03/2015 20:15

there are some posts that I want to believe are true but struggle to believe that they are..

the thread where the women's DH had a dick dipping cup springs to mind (I laughed too much for them to be fake laughs!!!) ????

rebelfor · 08/03/2015 20:17

I'm cynical anyway, but a lot of the threads do seem to be bullshit.

They seem to read more like a ''Dear Deidre'' than a genuine person asking a question.

CrabbyTheCrabster · 08/03/2015 20:18

Why on earth would anyone bother making shit up? Especially when so many threads on MN are incredibly prosaic and tedious.

Mind you, the thread I've posted this evening hardly got any replies, presumably because it was (I and my lumpy insides are) so incredibly prosaic and tedious. Grin

Arkkorox · 08/03/2015 20:19

I'm going to be very upset if the armpit sex thread wasn't real Sad

emmelinelucas · 08/03/2015 20:25

I think that a good number are "plants" by journalists looking for column fodder. It is really, really astounding, the threads that are re-hashed in the Daily Fail, virtually every week.
Not that I read it, you understand Blush

OhMjh · 08/03/2015 20:32

You missed the one with the woman scared her 2 day old daughter was a lesbian because of the way she looked at her when she breastfed and would tinfoil in her bra put the lesbo baby off?

pilates · 08/03/2015 20:33

Yeah especially first time posters, who say go easy on me this is my first time posting Hmm and then pfft disappear.

LuisSuarezTeeth · 08/03/2015 20:42

Why would you make something up like this OP? Are you quite well? Wink

FuckItBucket · 08/03/2015 20:46

Pilates you mean op that's usually involve benefits, disability, fat people, new cars and big TVs then don't return after starting the thread?

Just watch it kick off

pilates · 08/03/2015 20:48
Smile
Honeydragon · 08/03/2015 20:50

I do, but they are in my usual name and screamingly obvious. Well I used to, I don't now Sad can't be arsed with it.

MrsFrankieHeck · 08/03/2015 20:59

Honey, you're going to get told off.

BubblesInMyBath · 08/03/2015 21:04

Grin And I thought people weren't bothering with my thread - took you lot like a good 20 mins before anyone replied, I nearly went pffft myself
