Surely quite a few are wind ups?

Anyone going to confess?

We all really believe the current AIBU with text speak and the low class ex.

BubblesInMyBath · 08/03/2015 21:12

I always bite and don't consider the threads are made up - right until someone suggests it, then it seems obvious

ESP low class ex one

I hope to goodness it's most of them.

I don't mind either way. I love coming on here every evening to see what non-event someone has got their knickers in a twist about. (Either real or not real).

Honeydragon · 08/03/2015 21:19

I'm used to getting told off Grin

whatsthatcomingoverthehill · 08/03/2015 21:28

The ridiculous ones are easy to spot and don't really matter. It's just people fucking about for laughs. But I have been involved in discussion boards where there have been elaborate deceptions conducted over a matter of years, where people got seriously hurt as a result.

GlitzAndGigglesx · 08/03/2015 21:46

I'm not witty or clever enough to make them up but I've been shocked to discover some are made up that I fall for.

emmelinelucas · 08/03/2015 22:03

After a while they are easier to spot.

Thanks for readingxxx

Bugger, just done a troll masterclass.

wartsnall · 08/03/2015 22:14

Well I've never started a thread before and to be honest I'm feared to!! Most people are shot down in flames and it would seriously make me very unsure of myself.
I think I'll be sticking with reading and commenting and living in my own happy bubble

FuckItBucket · 08/03/2015 22:17

Some are hilarious though like the dinosaur thread.

I don't mind the funny trolls.

Lovemycatsandkids · 09/03/2015 09:00

Wouldn't like to say.

In my 20s I would have scoffed at some of these posts as utter bollocks but now a hell of a lot older and more experienced I have key so many people with extrodinary lives and secrets nothing suprised me anymore.

WayfaringStranger · 09/03/2015 09:34

I'm not imaginative enough to make up threads. I'm also incredibly lazy.

I believe that a lot of the bridezilla ones are so exaggerated that they might as well made up. I'm not sure why people can't see through the bull shit.

DeeWe · 09/03/2015 10:53

I think a large number of AIBU are true, but told from a heavily biased and one sided position. If the poster is trying to look like they're being fair they stick in a few half hearted "I know they might feel/do xxxx".

Just the change of prospective, and a few extra details (which the OP may not be aware of) can change the whole post.

If you read AIBU with that attitude it takes a certain amount of posts down to the size they should be.

QueenOfTheAlley · 09/03/2015 16:54

Well the servants one wasn't about me despite being written in the first person. It was on behalf of a friend's cat.

daisychain01 · 09/03/2015 18:09

Some of the outrageous, "you couldn't make it up" type threads, ones that sound like they are a primal scream, are probably attention-seeking if the person is lonely in RL.

and if its Half-Term, you can count on having some strange ones!

I won't mention it but there is one at the moment like that - I can't make head nor tail of it, it is just a jumble of sentences and I don't know if even they know why they are posting (either venting or attention seeking ... who knows).

Inkanta · 09/03/2015 19:23

Pilates - yes know what you mean with the I'm a newby go easy on me and then disappear Wink
