To think the fat on bacon should be crispy or cut off

Just that really must get a life. My Mum likes her bacon sarnies with fat left on but not crispy. It looks hideous & the texture makes me want to gag.
So AIBU?

YABU soft fat and chewy rind!

ProfYaffle · 02/03/2015 17:53

YAsoNBU. Crispy or non existent only. I can't bear getting a mouthful of rubber bands in a bacon sandwich

Janethegirl · 02/03/2015 17:54

I like my bacon very lightly cooked, if crispy I won't eat it. However dh likes it burnt Smile

TheRealAmandaClarke · 02/03/2015 17:55

Yanbu. Obviously

monkeysox · 02/03/2015 17:55

Yanbu crisp or off.

ShadowSpiral · 02/03/2015 17:55

YANBU

TheJiminyConjecture · 02/03/2015 17:55

Dead, dead crispy bacon here. The stringy rubbery fat is enough to ruin the whole sarnie. Yanbu

MrsTedCrilly · 02/03/2015 17:57

Bacon is the only meat I like the fat on! I used to eat the raw fat when I was young.. I'm sorry! ShockGrin

flowery · 02/03/2015 17:59

YANBU. If I have a bacon sandwich out somewhere I have to conduct an excavation process to remove fat in order to ensure I'm not going to end up with a mouthful of the stuff.

ginmakesitallok · 02/03/2015 18:00

On a similar note, does anyone remember when you had to cut the rind off bacon or buy specific rindless bacon? Never seems to have rind on it these days, which by the way I'd a positive thing

Alisvolatpropiis · 02/03/2015 18:01

Yanbu

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 02/03/2015 18:01

Crispy or off.

I'm now craving a crispy bacon and avocado sandwich. Have no bacon.

It's just one thing after another today.

CarcerDun · 02/03/2015 18:02

YADNBU.

CloserToFiftyThanTwenty · 02/03/2015 18:04

YANBU

EugenesAxe · 02/03/2015 18:07

YANBU - I'm like Jack Sprat with a caveat 'unless it has been rendered to crispy in which case bring it on'.

IfYouWereARiverIdLearnToFloat · 02/03/2015 18:13

YANBU - I could boak at the thought of the fat on bacon. I cut it off before I cook it or else it has to be cremated.

RunDougalRunQuiteFast · 02/03/2015 18:16

Mmm, crispy bacon fat ....

heatseeker14 · 02/03/2015 18:17

Off altogether. With near surgical precision. Not even crispy. I can't stand crackling either.

dexter73 · 02/03/2015 18:22

I cut it off. Eating rubbery bacon fat is grim!

SandorClegane · 02/03/2015 18:26

Do none of you eat streaky bacon? Streaky bacon crispy at edges but with soft fat in middle is the way forward. Smoked obviously because unsmoked bacon is just weird.

SandorClegane · 02/03/2015 18:28

The fat is the best bit!

BreeVDKamp · 02/03/2015 18:29

YANBU AT ALL, not in the slightest. Couldn't agree more.

Littlemisssunshine75 · 02/03/2015 18:30

YADefinitelyNBU. Crispy or off is absolutely the way forward...
DH eats fat however it's cooked. If I cut the fat off on my plate he'll gobble it up. It turns my stomach! He'll eat any kind of fat, I don't know how he does it
