to actually really like Myleene Klass now?

I never really liked her because MN told me not to but I have to say I have really warmed to her after this debacle at her daughter's school. I loathe class presents, I feel they they take the fun out of present-giving for the giver and the receiver. And they are more than a bit grabby.

I think she is quite brave to risk the fury of the school gate mums on this issue. Well done Myleene!

Fwiw I've never really felt one way or the other about MK but I found this quite funny. (It's also really old, like a year or so, so MK must've been keeping it for this purpose).

Can't stand Mykleen Ass who, as far as I can see, is notable for being the first woman ever to have a baby and for whinging about how hard it is living in her London mansion and how unfair it is for her to pay tax. She has a point about the birthday party thing, but most people try to avoid falling out with other mums for the sake of their DC.

I tend to fly off the handle when I don't like things and then everyone at work is amazed at me. So I sympathise with her over the furore. I don't exactly like her for it though..I can kind of see why people get fed up with me Blush

What I really like her for is giving her celebrity jungle money to the Farepak fraud victims, I thought that was great. Also I think she's a hard worker and her exH treated her unbelievably badly. So YANBU Op I like her too, and I never used to.

Again? More women hating a woman for, erm, being a woman?

I thought feminism meant we never did this in public? That successful women were what we aspire to be, want our daughters to be... so we could show how being rich and famous should be done.

But no. Once a woman gets famous, wealthy she becomes as avaricious and any perma-hated man, and the sisterhood sharpens its claws and gets nasty.

I'll stick with being an old fashioned feminist who thinks Ms Klass has done well for herself and wish her well of it.

A teacher friend of mine once confided to me that in the staffroom of one of MK's old schools, the teachers used to throw darts at her photograph.

As a feminist myself, Nomama, I don't believe in putting women on a pedestal and absolving them from criticism even when they are bloody annoying just because they happen to be a woman. So if Mylene whines about paying tax as a wealthy person, or patronises other women by carrying on as if no one else has had a child, ever, I'll feel free to point this out, even if it does mean admitting that one of the sisterhood might have faults.

At first I quite liked her, admired her talent even thought good on you re her baby book and 'clothes' lines. Then she spun her crap about mansion tax and this latest schoolyard scrap and I realised she'd sell her soul to the devil for a bit of fame.

i don't see what is to like about holding onto a story for over a year until it would benefit you to get your name in the media at the expense of the parents of other children your child goes to school with. that seems like extremely selfish behaviour to me. there are mums at the school im not fon of but i smile and say hi as i get to walk away but my daughter has to play with these children, why would i make life more difficult for her?

also its not as if they were asking for her to buy a kindle but for everyone to pool a small amount of money to buy a better gift, better than having twenty plastic dolls. not to everyone's taste but hardly the crime of the century. i wouldn't mind contributing to something like that.

Oh and it has nothing to do with her being a women, I also think plenty of men are twats- this thread just happens to be about MK who is a woman!!!
