I never really liked her because MN told me not to but I have to say I have really warmed to her after this debacle at her daughter's school. I loathe class presents, I feel they they take the fun out of present-giving for the giver and the receiver. And they are more than a bit grabby.

I think she is quite brave to risk the fury of the school gate mums on this issue. Well done Myleene!

Nydj I neither like nor dislike her. I don't know her. And as I don't have any idea how tweets work (fb either) I can't comment on them directly.

Given what I have read here she seems to have posted some fairly 'amusing' stuff that has involved judging other women/mums. Which makes her sound like a regular MNer, as many of the preceding posts, and many more around the site in general, sound very similar

Do you know those men personally, in real life. WhereIs?

And do you also know Ms Klass?

Or are you indulging in Celebrity Tipping?

MartinJD · 22/02/2015 16:02

Fascinating. Seems to be so much hate here for this slim, pretty successful young mum. I cant think why?

squoosh · 22/02/2015 16:03

Yawn.

There's always lots of love for slim, pretty and successful Victoria Beckham.

MartinJD · 22/02/2015 16:10

Of course, the key difference between Ms Klass and Victoria Beckham is that Victoria Beckhams life is essentially so far removed from most young mums lives as to seem incomparable.

Tangerineandturquoise · 22/02/2015 16:12

I think that MK revived her comments by appearing in an article this week in Fabulous Magazine (which is the glossy that goes with the Sun) repeating what she said before. She might have been wiser to let it lie, instead she goes on about how she wants her kids to have yo-yos and felt tips not Kindles for their birthday.
I am not sure the school will like it.

She can say what she likes, when she likes, but I am struggling to see how her daughters will come out of this socially unscathed at school.

squoosh · 22/02/2015 16:12

And most 'young mums' can readily identify with Myleene 'millionaire' Klass?

Sparklingbrook · 22/02/2015 16:13

She's on my 'least worst female celebrities' list.

MartinJD · 22/02/2015 16:16

Presumably the school is of a reasonable enough standing as to have parents not read cheap tabloid gossip magazines, so I would question it's impact TBH.

MartinJD · 22/02/2015 16:18

Squoosh: relatively speaking, in comparison to Victoria Beckham, then yes.

BetterTogether75 · 22/02/2015 16:22

YABU. She's a twat.

MartinJD · 22/02/2015 16:27

She's a twat == she's slimmer and more successful then I am

?

squoosh · 22/02/2015 16:30

Martin am I to assume that if you ever express a dislike of a male celebrity it's because you're jealous of their wealth/looks/penis size?

Sparklingbrook · 22/02/2015 16:38

If you say anything on MN about a female sleb that isn't 'OMG they are such a great role model/businesswoman/fashion icon/fantabulous mother' that automatically makes you envious of them Fact. Grin

Nomama · 22/02/2015 16:42

Yeah, as the alternative posts, the gossip, stories a friend told a friend, and just deciding to call her a twat is so much more adult, so much more considered.

MartinJD · 22/02/2015 16:45

Good question squoosh, that depends.

If I told you that I find male musician X objectionable because he can't play any instruments, and his breath smells of cat food, then i'm at least basing my vitriol on some tangible (in my mind at least) deficiency.

However, If I was then to tell you that I hate celeb Y but couldn'tgive a precise reason, while you and I both knew he's basically better then me at everything, then perhaps a safe assumption to make is that I may simply be a bit jealous of the bloke?

As it happens, I dont really feel any major hate for any celebs, I find some of the mildly irritating, the same way that I feel when swatting a fly.

squoosh · 22/02/2015 16:52

There was a long running thread at the time where people expressed their opinions on Myleene Klass' decision to publicise these party invites. Many people felt it was unwise of her to cause potential upset and embarrassment to her children in exchange for column inches and a mini media storm. A mini media storm that coincided with a product launch.

I think that is the reason why many people aren't overly fond of her.

MartinJD · 22/02/2015 16:58

Fair enough. I can understand that.

Cheers!
