I bought a box of milk tray for me and DH to share for Valentine's day as our present. They were going cheap in the supermarket otherwise I'd not have bothered.

First thing is that it seems to have the slogan 'Cadburys, making it personal since 1915' on it. Which sounds a bit sinister / threatening.

Second thing is that there are 3 of every chocolate. 3? In a box on sale for Valentine's day? Are they just trying to cause fights? or covering themselves for some sort of polyamourous set up?

I'm going to have to arm wrestle DH over the last strawberry one and god knows what we're going to do with three turkish delights (which they've tried to hide by calling them exotic delights - not fooling me though Cadburys).

AIBU to think 3 of each chocolate in a box is a mad thing to do?

But not to complain too loudly in case they "make it personal"

They are in a conspiracy with David Icke's lizards . . .

Bowlersarm · 15/02/2015 17:14

Haha.

Dh and I visited ds1 in his uni town last night, as it just so happened it was the one night we all had free. I booked a table for 3 at a local restaurant to his uni which we subsequently went to.

At the end, a couple of waitress's, plus the owner, came up to us and laughingly said "we were all very keen to see who turned up to eat at a table of 3 on Valentine's night" !!

I opened a box of Milk Tray last night. They tasted foul. It was only a one layer box but half of them were binned.

HowCanIMissYouIfYouWontGoAway · 15/02/2015 17:17

Kraft are on a mission to improve the health of the nation by buying cadbury and pissing about with the recipe until the chocolate inedible.
I suppose we ought to thank the bunch of slimey knuckleheaded bastards really.

NaiceVillageOfTheDammed · 15/02/2015 17:19

Strawberry creams. Who eats strawberry creams?

Indeed you have found your one true match OP. Perhaps you can each nibble at an end al la Lady and the Tramp spag bol scene.

ToffeeCaramel · 15/02/2015 17:20

YA definitely BU to like the strawberry ones. Everyone knows that the turkish delight are the nicest. Smile

Aliiiii · 15/02/2015 17:22

Normally by the end of Feb I would have eaten hundreds of creme eggs. So far this year i have had 5. I can't believe what Kraft have done to them! Where's the lovely lovely cadburys choc gone?! ShockShock

diddl · 15/02/2015 17:25

Arm wrestle over strawberry creams?

Good grief, what's the world coming to?

Well it's simple in this house.

I eat what chocs I like & husband considers himself lucky if he gets a look inGrin

EveBoswell · 15/02/2015 17:25

It's not Cadbury's any more.

As for the jelly-like middles to the chocolates, I bet that they are not allowed to be called Turkish Delights if they were not made in Turkey. EU poking up its head again.

Couldn't you take turns at helping yourselves from the box, OP? At least you'll have an equal number each -even if you have to have a coffee 'flavoured' one and don't like coffee--.

Mandatorymongoose · 15/02/2015 17:25

Yeah, I had some gorgeous hotel chocolat chocolates for Christmas and by comparison the milk tray might as well be a box of that chocolate flavour coating you get on stuff sometimes but it did give me the opportunity to dress up all in black and jump out on DH brandishing them like a chocolate ninja so upside / downside.

My dad had some M&S chocs & my goodness they were awful.

I really don't think that I've tasted worse chocolates!

Not had cadbury for a while though as not in UK.

Mandatorymongoose · 15/02/2015 17:28

I'm shocked by all the strawberry cream hating! Do let me know if you need any safely disposing of, my rates are very reasonable Grin

Mmmmmmm hotelchocolat.

AwfulBeryl · 15/02/2015 18:27

I love the Turkish delights and the strawberry creams, hate the motherfucking pralines though. I think a lot of chocolates are shit now, Thorntons are utterly Shite too.
Aldi chocolate is surprising naice.

EveBoswell · 15/02/2015 18:30

Beryl, may I be first to bag some pralines, please? I love them.

Mandatory wants the strawberry creams so she doesn't need the pralines.

Bakeoffcakes · 15/02/2015 18:34

I used to love creme eggs, they have a very nasty after taste now.Angry

I now choose other brands of chocolate.

Jumblebee · 15/02/2015 18:35

How can people NOT like strawberry creams?! Shock

Turkish delight chocolates are the work of the devil!

crazykat · 15/02/2015 18:37

I used to love milk tray and roses, especially the strawberry ones. Now they're revolting and I can't stand them.

Lately galaxy seems to be going the same way Sad. The way chocolate is going it will be completely inedible in a few years. The only plus side is I might be able to stick to a diet.

JoanHickson · 15/02/2015 18:40

I bought freddos after a recommendation on here. They were much nicer than the fruit and nut.

SummerHouse · 15/02/2015 18:44

Making it personal is the most hilarious and inappropriate slogan I have heard. Its inappropriate on many levels (or layers if you will). But since they have gone with it, they could have a mini spin off slogan for each bar. E.g boost - do you really think you should be eating me you greedy bastard?

middleagedbread · 15/02/2015 18:44

Beryl me for the pralines please

fattymcfatfat · 15/02/2015 18:45

real turkish delight. ..from turkey is delicious (my mum brings me some back whenever she goes) but the Cadbury chocolate ones are utter crap and nothing like turkish delight!

IamGrimalkin · 15/02/2015 18:45

I remember when Galaxy chocolate used to taste nice. Back when it ws chunkier and 'thicker'. It started to taste awful when they rebranded it as smoother and creamier!

I'm still mourning the loss!

fattymcfatfat · 15/02/2015 18:46

and wtf has happened to my creme eggs???!

middleagedbread · 15/02/2015 18:47

and I haven't had a single cream egg so far in case I am severely disappointed (after reading all the negative comments on mn)
