I bought a box of milk tray for me and DH to share for Valentine's day as our present. They were going cheap in the supermarket otherwise I'd not have bothered.

First thing is that it seems to have the slogan 'Cadburys, making it personal since 1915' on it. Which sounds a bit sinister / threatening.

Second thing is that there are 3 of every chocolate. 3? In a box on sale for Valentine's day? Are they just trying to cause fights? or covering themselves for some sort of polyamourous set up?

I'm going to have to arm wrestle DH over the last strawberry one and god knows what we're going to do with three turkish delights (which they've tried to hide by calling them exotic delights - not fooling me though Cadburys).

AIBU to think 3 of each chocolate in a box is a mad thing to do?

But not to complain too loudly in case they "make it personal"

I haven't had proper Turkish delight for years, I love it.

I like the cheap fake stuff too though. I have some English rose hand soap that smells a lot like td I have to stop myself from licking it as I know from bitter experience that it won't taste as good as it smells.

Discopanda · 15/02/2015 18:53

Easy, do a 'Lady and the Tramp' with the third one!

HelenaDove · 15/02/2015 18:55

The new Cadburys ad features the song Yes Sir I Can Boogie. They have used a song from the good old days of Cadburys to advertise the muck they have turned it into now.

Now THATS irony! Hmm

Bakeoffcakes · 15/02/2015 18:56

My dd made Turkish delight at Christmas. It really was delicious.

HelenaDove · 15/02/2015 18:57

The choc on the creme eggs is a lot thinner. I remember when you had to really bite into a creme egg. Now the merest touch of the creme egg with your teeth and it falls apart.

merlehaggard · 15/02/2015 18:57

Eeuw! Strawberry creams and Turkish delights!

HairyPotter · 15/02/2015 19:04

Strawberry creams, orange creams and Turkish delights are the worst things ever!

Now, coffee and nutty ones are da bomb Grin

AwfulBeryl · 15/02/2015 19:15

I quite like da bomb hairy Smile

GatoradeMeBitch · 15/02/2015 19:30

What did they actually taste like OP? Cadbury's has tasted rotten to me for the last year or so, like cheap waxy economy chocolate (not to mention the weird slightly fishy aftertaste!)

bobbyjoe · 15/02/2015 19:48

Another here that hasn't tried a Cadburys crème egg so far this year after being put off by what people have said on here. I wonder if sales are down. Someone upthread saying they chocolate is thin is horrible to here as the ends of the egg were usually very thick with chocolate. Maybe I'd like them but for some reason I can't bring myself to try one. I will never eat a Toffee Crisp again. The last was so slimy with palm oil, yuk. Completely different taste/texture that was the most noticeable out of all the chocolates.

You're supposed to share the odd ones ;)

Surely it lends itself perfectly to "one for you, two for me. One for you, two for me..."

Or it did. Before Kraft started tipping camel shit into every vat of chocolate.

Some of the M&S dine in for two options provide enough food for 3 people, which makes me wonder what kind of evening they are suggesting.
