I jest in the title, but seriously I keep getting this a lot as I've turned into an obsesively healthy eater and addicted to exercise in th last year.

Every time I hear it I just hear "you used to look awful but are looking a bit better now". Aibu to think you just shouldn't comment on someone's apearence?

Can only imagine how boring it must be receiving such compliments day in day out. . . .Confused

JapaneseMargaret · 06/02/2015 19:27

Well, you probably did look worse before!

What were your reasons for becoming, and I quote, "an obsessively healthy eater, and addicted to exercise"?

I'm guessing you understood that one of the most notable outcomes of eating healthily and exercising a lot is that it tends to markedly improve your appearance? This is probably something you were hoping would happen, as part of making these substantial changes...?

You're therefore being disingenuous to think other people won't notice and comment then, really.

Aliceinvodkaland · 06/02/2015 19:29

are you a bit of a twat op? Hmm

ghostyslovesheep · 06/02/2015 19:29

I feel for you OP

I get fed up of people crashing cars and falling over because they are distracted by my beauty

MuttonCadet · 06/02/2015 19:29

I'm fabulous too, irritating when people notice isn't it? Blush

I do it by intelligent insight and witty comments, I volunteer at charities and run my own business employing 100 people, as well as exercise and eating healthily.

So I don't just look fabulous, I am fabulous Hmm

(I just generally don't need to tell people)

ThreeQuartersEmpty · 06/02/2015 19:36

You can't be an obsessively healthy eater when you take all of your six varieties of salt into account.

Meanwhile, here on planet fabulous.....

ILovedYouYesterday · 06/02/2015 19:37

Wait till they start asking "Are you sure you shouldn't stop losing weight now? You don't want to get too thin!"

Grin

Seriously, I am sure they really do mean you look great!

I met an old friend a few years ago and was amazed at how fab she looked and told her so. My amazement was at how good she looked compared to me (when we are the same age) and I wanted to know her secret!! I hope she didn't think I thought she used to look awful!

stareatthetvscreen · 06/02/2015 19:37

Nono seriously my arse has caused a shunt car crash after a youth took the time to yell 'fuck me that aaaarse'
Tits like a bag of spanners though.

Tinks42 · 06/02/2015 19:44

This was the best one I have ever heard. Dark humour here so don't get all uppity about it...

Was at a funeral a few years ago, friends mum died and they're Irish so had the open casket.

One of the old boys said to friend...

"Ahhhh she was a good looking woman and doesn't she make a fabulous corpse"

Well! I nearly spat my sherry out.

andsmile · 06/02/2015 19:44

well post a pic then - we can all have a good 'gleg' then and decide

YaTalkinToMe · 06/02/2015 19:47

Fair do's on your new (ish) regime.
Twirl baby twirl.

MaryWestmacott · 06/02/2015 19:50

If you do post a picture, before to post both a 'before' and 'after' so we can rip your confidence to shreds critically discuss.

You probably did look a bit ropy before - so it's probably upsetting because you didn't realise it was so noticable before that you were overweight.

i feel your pain, I get this all the time since giving up table salt, so annoying! Hmm

dhdjdbrjrkbr · 06/02/2015 21:00

I'm not posting a picture for you -bitches- to comment on.

I get flamed enough for pointing out the obvious widening intergenerational inequality around here and have a few -fans- who seem to stalk me...

I thought you were going to say, 'for your age', which can be taken the wrong way.
