To warn you about the "fabletics" that mn are advertising?

They will sting you if you are t very careful.
When u tick ts and cs you unwittingly agree to pay every month unless you opt out via the e mails they are supposed to send you it don't!
I've recently been stung by their other ripoff "just fab" and a google search showed in far from alone!

How have you been stung? Just fab says in the bottom that is a subscription service. I'm presuming it's illegal for them to just sign you up to a subscription. I think it's more of a case you you gave them your bank details without reading tje fine print properly

I looked at them as they were offering a good deal but cottoned on to it being a subscription, nowhere could I find the terms and conditions or anything clear and definitive on their website about how it works so stayed well clear. I still can't get my head round a monthly subscription for gym wear?? It's a shame as they have some nice stuff.

I nearly got stung with this too. Picked out my gym gear for £22, really nice stuff, then realised they send you a full price outfit every 5 weeks and their stuff isn't cheap!

You can get the 22 deal then skip months then cancel. It's not a con, it's all explained.

www.fabletics.co.uk/guides/perks - looks like they send you an outfit/charge you £44 a month unless you go into your account and tell them not to by a certain date.

its not something I would want to be tied into

and you only get the good price by becoming a vip member so they probably want you to forget to cancel it afterwards. Nobody really needs a new gym outfit every month

Thanks for this. I nearly ordered a £22 outfit for DD & certainly saw noting about it being a subscription service! Glad I didn't order it now!

What an odd business model for clothing. It's really put me off the brand altogether.

I agree that it's an odd business model.

I wouldn't call it a "ripoff" - you just need to pay attention.

I've only seen it advertised on TV and it's pretty clear that it's a subscription service, a bit like the one that was for a new pair of shoes every month. As with any advert you have to read the small print before you buy anything.

DONT SIGN UP TO FABLETICS
Anyone saying otherwise in this forum is working for Fabletics. I shop a lot online, and my job is website support for the Worlds Favourite Airline so I know what Im talking about. Fabletics are definitely unscrupulous. They deliberately make it unclear what you are signing up to when you fall for their 'get 50% off your first outfit' advert. I bought one outfit at 50% discount. Without it being obvious what it incurred, and it should be obvious, I inadvertently signed up to a VIP membership, and planned to stop there. I then got emails saying 'You've got Credit of 238 points'. It didn't mention money, so I thought this was referring to loyalty points like Boots or Sainsburys and ingored the emails, not intending to buy anything else. I was wrong. By referring to 'points' it was a way of them hiding that they had taken £44 (twice) from my account because I hadn't told them not to.
Their website says you cant cancel your membership by email, so I phoned and chose the 5th option 'Cancel Your Membership' on the phone and hung on FOREVER. I then chose Option 1 'Place an Order' before I got through to anyone. Their Customer Service staff member lied several times during the course of the conversation in which I asked for a refund, asked for my bank details to be removed from their database and asked for my membership to be cancelled. He kept trying diversion tactics - How were the products? What sports do you play? etc. I stood my ground and got 1 of the 2 payments refunded, they wouldn't remove my details from their database as if they did, it would wipe out the £44 credit that he said he 'cant' refund. I thought I would simply order some goods with the £44 and then return for a refund. Oh No, they've got this sorted too - they just give you points back, not a refund. I really thought with the brilliant examples of customer service that John Lewis and other companies give today, that this sort of marketing and sales technique would be long gone. But no - it sadly lives on by the name of FABLETICS.

This is from the front page of the website and also under the tab "How it works" - very clear. If you don't choose to skip the month, you get charged! Seriously, just read what it says before handing over your card details!

I signed up, got a pair of leggings for under £20 and immediately cancelled via email.

I was emailed back the next day to say it was all cancelled - no problem.

Think I could have been lucky though?

its very obvious. Its made clear on the TV advert and on the website.

I buy new gym clothes all the time, I go 5 times a week, so need a few sets of clothes. tbh i wouldn't spend £44 on one gym outfit anyway. No-one is duped by this. its made very clear.
