To hate Sponge Bob Square Pants?

3yo Dd decided that she loved Sponge Bob after visiting Nickelodeon World at Alton Towers with her Grandparents.
I caved in this morning and put an episode on. So far, someone has been called a moron and another character called a cretin. The way that the characters talk to each other is horrible.
Who writes this stuff for kids?

Loving all the European Spongebobs

I loved it, annoyingly the DDs are watch tv in their rooms now.
I have watched it without them though.
Better than Hannah Montana, Suite Life etc.

I was 12 when Spongebob first started and I loved it then, love it now. I am quite at some of the "bad" words now when I watch it with 6yo DS but they went over my head when I was younger and they seem to go over his, too.
I am also a huge fan of Adventure Time and Regular Show, so perhaps I'm just really immature.

There was one with a random guy in a gorilla suit beating them up that had us all flopping around on the floor with the giggles.

I just don't find it funny, it's not my kind of humour. Maybe I get it too much?!

Spongebob is amazing.

Especially the song CunnyFunt mentions - I sang that for weeks.

When the DC get a bit older and want to watch crap like Good Luck Charlie and the Wizards of Waverley Place toy will yearn to be watching lovely Spongebob.

We love Spongebob. But the newer episodes are rubbish. We are looking forward to the new film.
