Lulu - that is what happens. That is what the Civil List money is, money from the Crown States, owned by the royal family, managed by the government - who get to keep the majority of the money the Estate raises.

Public duties continue as part of that deal - paid for via the monies raised by Crown Estates.

Comment all you like, I am only annoyed by the lack of understanding. I have no personal axe to grind for or against the royal family. As I see it they make little difference but do give us a bit of a USP that brings in a lot of tourist pounds.
